Be careful if you have to visit that country next door. They’re crazy!

The immigration issue between Mexico and the United States is just exploding.

What is a citizenry to do when the country next door has gone haywire? Well, the population should at least be warned that those people on the other side of the border are capable of any manner of craziness and they can’t be trusted.

A responsible government has an obligation to warn its people that the place is just downright unstable right now and to be careful if they go there.

“a young commander in chief”

I had a hard time with the president’s decision on Afghanistan. Obviously many others have too. My instinct is exit now, end this war, period. But then after he announced his plan that conflicted with another instinct I have. To trust him. And I do. But that’s not at all what I’m writing about here, my position on the war.

It’s just about our president, and a moment that will go down in history.

NY Times today:

Now as his top military adviser ran through a slide show of options, Mr. Obama expressed frustration. He held up a chart showing how reinforcements would flow into Afghanistan over 18 months and eventually begin to pull out, a bell curve that meant American forces would be there for years to come.

“I want this pushed to the left,” he told advisers, pointing to the bell curve. In other words, the troops should be in sooner, then out sooner.

Joe smacked down this Morning (VIDEO/POLL).

Wow. Max Blumenthal sticks it to him. I’m not sure if I have ever seen anyone rattle Joe this badly. Joe attacks him immediately when he comes out. Nobody else says a word through the whole thing.

“Well, we had small government conservatives in power for 8 years and… you guys failed, and we had an economic collapse as a result of your policies.”

I don’t know if I have ever seen Joe turned into such blathering mush in this way. So he brings the guy out, attacks him one on one, loses, and ends the segment. What a class act.

Smacked down hard on his own show. I hope Grayson lit a fire and we see a lot more of this. When it’s put straight to conservatives in this way, they have no response.

It’s a lie factory. They make lies. Factory-made lies. Lies from a factory. A factory of lies.

How many ways can we think of to say it and say it and say it?

The shot rang around the blogosphere this morning, everyone has heard it. It’s quoted on a rec list diary at Daily Kos.

GRAYSON: My response is WHATEVER. America is sick of you, Republican Party. You are a LIE FACTORY – that’s all you ever do. Why don’t you work together with the Democrats to solve America’s problems instead of making stuff up?

It is good to see that Dem leadership is going to stand with Grayson on his “Die quickly” line and reject the fake outrage from the other side. However, I can’t help but feel like we will let an opportunity to go on offense slip away. Again.

America joins mile-high club, gets screwed on Citibank jet.

When AIG had their famous junket on us (taxpayers), I wrote a diary covering an aspect of it I hadn’t seen elsewhere: the luxurious details of the beautiful St. Regis Resort in Monarch Beach, California. Ain’t no Party Like an AIG Party.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
The diary was a guide to the restaurants, the golf, the spa, etc. Highlighted were the bar where you paid for them to celebrate their latest streak of good luck and the Presidential Suite Master Bath where you paid for them to do wash (or do whatever with… or pay hookers to do whatever with) their pasty executive… parts. Details. Exactly what you got for your tax dollars.
