Muse in the Morning

The muses are ancient.  The inspirations for our stories were said to be born from them.  Muses of song and dance, or poetry and prose, of comedy and tragedy, of the inward and the outward.  In one version they are Calliope, Euterpe and Terpsichore, Erato and Clio, Thalia and Melpomene, Polyhymnia and Urania.

It has also been traditional to name a tenth muse.  Plato declared Sappho to be the tenth muse, the muse of women poets.  Others have been suggested throughout the centuries.  I don’t have a name for one, but I do think there should be a muse for the graphical arts.  And maybe there should be many more.

What are we here for?

First let me apologize for my attitude last night.  I should have walked away when I grew to tired to respond with more civility.  The main reason why I became frustrated however still remains. Are we to be an echo chamber of other blogs simply posting and cross-posting the same things?  This leads to fewer voices and perspectives being shared and makes us less interesting and less important.

Are we going to waste half a month figuring out what to call our first project?  How many soldiers died during that time?  If we can’t organize ourselves what is the hope of organizing a movement?  I’m still trying to be excellent to everyone, I really am.  But how do we justify spending so much time on creating a name when people are dying every day?

The Locker Room

Catch Up

So, so sorry I couldn’t keep up with the weekly postings over the past month.  Things got super-hectic, and sports were the last thing on my mind…

Since I’ve last posted, the Red Sox have won the World Series, and South Africa has won the Rugby World Cup (sorry, dave).

Sleepy Sunday Mornin’ Scribblings–NaNoWriMo

Sunday Morning…

I’m still trying to wake up. And I have a large cup of coffee sitting next to me.

Did I mention that the coffee cup is large? It’s big. And filled to the top with the brown stuff that should help me wake up.

Though as I’ve been thinking about the dream that woke me up…

NaNoWriMo: Saturday Chores Edition

Eleanor Roosevelt once said

“The future belongs to those who believe in their dreams.”

It’s been a busy day around here at Castle Kredwyn.

Writing has been happening…cleaning and grocery store trips have also been in the works. Course I also shot a cranky email off to Senators Feinstein and Schumer for their wrongheaded decisions.

But now…I’m hungry. And since my characters have hied themselves off to the Green Man Pub for some grub, I thought that food would be a good idea.

Writers cannot work on empty stomachs…
