Sure, it’s only been 61 days.  Who could have pulled our economy out of depression it is in any faster?  

Those are great questions, if, that is, they actually pertained to this subject; the economy.  So, let me explain why both need to get fired.

Without facts, name calling and finger pointing become pointless.  So, let’s get some facts out early as I go through the smoking gun on the effects of Republican eocnomics:

South Carolina is considered one of the last bastions of the GOP.  Republican’s in South Carolina never had to fear a Democratic Party challenger, merely a primary challenge by somebody who wished to try to “out wingnut” them.

The State newspaper that is based in Columbia, SC, has been a GOP shill rag for decades.  It simply prints whatever Senator DeMint and Senator Graham send to them without fact checking it.  It never prints an editorial that takes these senator’s to task when they lie to the voters.

Well, South Carolina citizens are beginning to wake up.

We’ve all seen the headlines.

Minority Leader Boehner:

The hundreds of billions of dollars Washington is borrowing to finance this pork-barrel monstrosity will come from our children and grandchildren. This is not “stimulus” – it’s generational theft.

Michelle Malken:

Barack Obama has dubbed his behemoth fiscal stimulus proposal the “American Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act.” But if truth in advertising were required of White House plans, only one title would fit the trillion-dollar-plus-and-growing bill: The Generational Theft Act of 2009.

Even John McCain got into the act:

“I think this can only be described as generational theft. What we are doing is amassing multi-trillions of dollars,” said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), speaking on CBS’s “Face The Nation” with Bob Schieffer.

Now… let’s go back in history, shall we?

1929.  The stock market crashes.  The Great Depression hits America.  It was a depression that took 10 years before America recovered.

In 2009, we could see the Greatest Depression…

It was the statement heard around the world:

If I wanted Obama to succeed, I’d be happy the Republicans have laid down.  And I would be encouraging Republicans to lay down and support him.  Look, what he’s talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care.  I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don’t want this to work.  So I’m thinking of replying to the guy, “Okay, I’ll send you a response, but I don’t need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails.” (interruption) What are you laughing at?  See, here’s the point.  Everybody thinks it’s outrageous to say.  Look, even my staff, “Oh, you can’t do that.”  Why not?  Why is it any different, what’s new, what is unfair about my saying I hope liberalism fails?  Liberalism is our problem.  Liberalism is what’s gotten us dangerously close to the precipice here.  Why do I want more of it?  I don’t care what the Drive-By story is.  I would be honored if the Drive-By Media headlined me all day long: “Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails.”  Somebody’s gotta say it.

Men, be careful what you wish for…

As many of you may already, a BART cop shot a suspect in the back.  I’ve been watching this story with a little interest.  Here is the recent development; the cop claims he was simply “going for the taser“.

I’m here to debunk this claim…

You know, nutcases really get under my skin.  But, there are some nutcases that are more worthy of contempt than others…

I’m talking, of course, of right-wing nutjobs… you know the people… the “torture all the bastards” crowd… the “I luv me some Jack Bauer” crowd… the “we are STRONG on national defense” crowd.  So, it should come as no surprise that these same individuals continually piss all over themselves in fear at the mere mention that something might happen.

Put Guantanamo prisoners far out at sea

No state is going to volunteer to house the Guantanamo prisoners because nobody wants that kind of criminal in their back yard, and everyone fears that their community will become an attractive target to terrorists.

I propose this solution: If they can legally be detained any longer, the Guantanamo prisoners should be incarcerated on a Navy ship retrofitted as a prison. The ship should remain in U.S. waters, preferably very cold waters, far enough offshore so that escapees are unlikely to get to land.

Ok… I’m ranting now… but GEEZ-ZUS… if Rush Limbaugh told them that BigBird went nuts and were coming for them… they’d be pissing all over themselves that some 6′ yellow bird would peck their eyes out!

And they want to be taken seriously????

There are many things to talk about, but, the economy has got to be at the front of any discussion.  The reason for this is clear; those in power who have money want even more money no matter how they get it.  That is the bottom line of the free market; make money.

It shouldn’t surprise people then, how they manage to make that bottom line…
