Obama and Tony Soprano in Afghanistan

Barack Obama went to New Jersey (Afghanistan) last week to meet with Tony Soprano (Hamid Karzai).

“Tony,” says Barack, “we know that you and your under-boss Big Pauly (Ahmad Wali “Big Wally” Karzai) are total mobsters!”

“We know you’re involved in money-laudering, extortion, and heroin trafficking!”

“But we (me and George W. Bush) have supported you anyway, and killed everybody who got in your way!”

“We made you the over-boss of all of Jersey!”

“And how do you pay us back? You let some penny-ante election fraud get all over my media! You’re making me look bad, Tony! You gotta clean up your act!”

“Big Pauly should sleep with the fishes!”

And Tony Soprano replied…

“Big Pauly is a made man, Mr. President, and that means that Big Pauly can fuck with anybody, and nobody can fuck with Big Pauly.”

  1. And John Kerry says…

“We should not condemn Ahmed Wali Karzai or damage our critical relations with his brother, President Karzai, on the basis of newspaper articles or rumors.”

for souls these days, again? Do they pay them with something equally worthless?

  2. …. after having a meltdown thursday directed at the US, which resulted in a Afghani backlash

During the speech, Karzai lashed out against U.S. and European officials, accusing them of perpetrating a “vast fraud” in the August presidential election as part of a conspiracy to deny him reelection.

His speech laid bare a growing mistrust between the Afghan government and its international partners as the U.S. and NATO boost troop levels in their campaign against the Taliban.

Karzai also suggested that parliament members who threw out a presidential decree strengthening his power over the election process were serving foreign interests.

That drew a sharp rebuke Saturday from Qanooni, a former Karzai Cabinet minister who finished second in the 2004 presidential election.
