This is the Best Blog!

Why is this the best blog? Let me count the ways. In no particular order, and no there won’t be a poll about what order my points should be in.

However, please do add your own reasons why this is the BEST blog.

There may be a poll about that.

Also, music may be added! like I am doing while I’m writing this.

1. People have great bullshit detectors here. You can trust the community overall to get on any lying, outright.

2. If you post an essay in which you are going crazy, people here who know about going crazy will post not only kind but often helpful responses.

3. There is often really good music posted here.

4. You can talk about conspiracy theory all you want.

5. There is a great Zen Buddhist theme.

6. People who get kicked off other blogs for being smart and caring and speaking their minds frequently wind up here.

7. It’s very easy here to become a user who can HR people, but mostly nobody ever does. We do have “One” ratings, which means “wrong,” and occasionally people here use those, when the author of the comment really is off base. But mostly we all just give each other…

8. Ponies. There aren’t that many blogs where you can find so many spectacular photographs of our equine friends.

9. People who write here consistently are consistently really smart.

10. People who write here consistently often have been hit by life in ways that have humbled us. Or driven us crazy, or both.

11. But in the mix, we all (people who write here consistently) can use our craziness and our having been humbled by the failure of the world at large, the failure of the more “normal” to be kind to our strangeness…

12. We can use all of that to make gravy. We are the gravy, peoples!

13. And in fact, we’re not crazy either.

14.

How about we run something here that links and quotes from DK bloggers who are really good and don’t post here?

    “Daily Kos Outliers.”

Something like that, that would make it clear that we don’t identify with DK, but recognize that there are people writing there who are doing great work.

honesty and candor seems to be prevalent over here. Also, there is a great variety of subject matter that gets addressed here — one can write about non-political topics. I also notice that people here are open and ready to change their opinions in mid-stream — this may be the most admirable thing about this blog.

  2. Jesus, it’s like Meta Week, eh?

    14. Y’all took me in after I threw myself on your mercy and, wtf, I know over half the people here! LOL!

    15. You’re not annoyed with me. (Yet.)

For Awesome DKos Poster Who Doesn’t Post Here, I’m going with Angry Mouse. Does Troutfishing post here? KingOneEye? MsSpentyouth? I also have a lot of more moderate friends there who are respectful and cool, like droogie and LeanneB.

Anyway, I have been into rap lately, which happens about once per year. I posted this earlier in buhdy’s thread, but here it is again! Warriors, Part 2, by Lloyd Banks, and Eminmen, and 50 Cent, and, like, some other folks I’ve never heard of before because I’m getting old.

ALSO: The N-word appears here frequently, but ya just gotta love the jams and most of the words.

  3. …what’s really great at dd.  Thanks Miep!

  4. Not the plight of Pooties and Woozles …

    is more people!

Sometimes people here are a bit too conspiracy theory minded or blindly radical (meaning they just oppose stuff for the sake of opposing it, although I’m admittedly guilty of that at times), but overall I really like it here.  And I love the free speech.

    Now, for some good music.

  5. and no scrinched faces because you won’t spank along….
