A battle over either free speech or racist exploitation, depending on your perspective, has erupted at North Carolina’s Concord Mills mall, which has declined to renew the lease for Loren Spivak’s “Free Market Warrior.” His kiosk sells bumper stickers – “Defend America. Fight Obama!” “Work Harder! Obama Needs Money,” “Al Qaeda’s Favorite Days: 9/11/01 and 11/04/08” – baby t-shirts: “My Parents Chose Life”, etc
I don’t know why there’s even any discussion of this. The Mall Corp. has the option to sell/rent, or not, space, at will, no? Do they even need a reason? It’s their space. It’s not “free” if you’re paying for the kiosk… right? Well, what if it was a librul Merchant? What do you say?
So, anyway… put this is the “Oh, I see” Department.
And on Wednesday, Obama is scheduled to visit to discuss health care.
