Bush’s Speech Happening Right Now at the Heritage Foundation

I’ve been preparing my home for a surgery trip with my son and listening to CNN this morning while doing it.  Dubya comes on giving a speech and is being applauded when he says something about our efforts in Iraq addressing our war on terror problems.  I pop my head around the corner and the screen says he’s giving this speech live from the Heritage Foundation……UGH!

I run across the room and change the channel to MSNBC and there he is again, gimmee a break!  Just for giggles I flip to Fox and there he is again.  I just want to continue on with my day and he’s saying more things and there is more clapping and I’m beginning to flinch.  I flip to Headline News and whew, no live speech from the Heritage Foundation going on there so I continue on with my duties when Headline News cuts to the speech to cover key statements, lots of applause.

I have confessed here to having been a cheerleader in my youth, I only did it in my youth okay?  One thing that cheerleaders either know though or quickly learn is that human beings are synergistic as hell.  Get us all together in a group and unless something is horribly wrong with a message, if it’s delivered with enthusiasm and exuberance you can get about 70% emotionally involved.  Used car salesmen develop this trick into a high art and use it in the least flattering way 😉  I’m deeply unhappy that Dubya has gotten this sort of coverage out of speech enthusiastically applauded at the Heritage Foundation.  That applause matters and when you don’t know who or what the Heritage Foundation is when you get home from work tonight and you listen to those choice cuts from the speech………………?  People have a pretty good internal authenticity meter when they turn it on too and I believe that most of America has turned theirs on where Bush is concerned but tonight they will hear authentic applause from a “Foundation” that most of them know little or nothing about.

I really hate this propaganda war!  And then Bush starts talking about the evils of Stalin.  It’s just about enough to bring on a seizure for the factually based brain.  Now, back to a life as real as I can get these days.  I’m trying very hard to not hate the MSM but do they think they could clue the average folks in a bit on where this speech was given and then America can figure out why there is so much enthusiastic applause for Mr. 25%?  Cuz it has nothing to do with other Americans beginning to change their minds about George and his war on terror or any of his other policies.  And when Marines at Al Asad patrolling Fallujah start asking you to your face how much longer you are going to be looney you can’t trust those damn soldiers to be a decent backdrop anymore either for your speeches.

It isn’t that illegal though.  It’s just sort of illegal.  Look, it really isn’t illegal….it was just a decision that was made based on the intelligence at hand that turned out to be wrong.

but you are right about peoples perceptions, when they don’t know which groups are which.

How are you and Joshua doing?  Nervous as hell, I’d imagine.
