Messing with your minds.

I have changed exactly 2 settings tonight.

I’ve changed the Blox headers to OTB Maroon.

This echos the maroon in the eyes

I’ve changed the blockquote background to a very light yellow, hopefully echoing the gold of the Buddha while evoking our Revolutionary Blue and Patriot Buff.

It’s very contrasty, but I can hear the fifes and drums marching.

We could maybe go a little golder.

  1. clash with the hyper-cleansing-freshness of the blue!!!! link text is, uh, criminal.

  2. I’d advocate maroon for the inter comment lines if I didn’t have to set up The Morning News

it stands out so much, it makes the blockquotes seem more important than the text of the essay.

we also need some sort of shadow to separate the bottom of the essay from the first comment. it should be stronger or wider than the separation between comments.

  3. Needs to be matched up with Link Hover

The blockquotes look pink to me, not yellow.

How do you think the joint is doing so far, content-wise? And personality-wise, for lack of a better term?

    What’s it all about, ekkie?

  4. I need one to mess with first. Gotcha!

  5. subject line italics either.

  6. The Morning News

This one very important change has eaten up all my time tonight and I must rest.

Blox Headers echoing the eyes- tres inportant!

Ditto making comment lines contrasty- Thin is good, top and bottom though and I think Maroon would work.

Preview I have no idea what happened with.

No bolding of subject and seperation thereof is unacceptable.

I’m going to stop fussing in the hopes OTB has answers that elude me.

    Nap time.  Astroboy is on.

  7. I really hate the red blockquote boxes. Also, the comments now seem to float for some reason.

I’ll summarize my thoughts (but I think OTB willl be working on this today… she and I were working on it last night)

First, it’s not tryingo to force fit the banner (as is) to synch with the page… and that’s not the problem

    – we need the white keyboard back in the banner (i loved it the way it was) as that is what tied the white on the left of it to Lennon walking off it… everybody freaked about the white keyboard so i thought the black would work: IT DOESN”T… too MANY different color elements

    – what i would do is use LC’s version of the sky (much bluer) and leave everything transparent over it (no blue box for the eyes & site name) so it flows…and put back the white keyboard

    – maroon blox are TOO stark… i much prefer the blue ones back and, as a surprise & something different, make an odd number of links under the blox maroon… ie, under menu only make two maroon… and in contact us only one link maroon… that’s enough and instead of black, the names of blog father, mother et al can all be maroon… but leave the links dark blue

    – that light blue should only be used at the bottom of comments…

    – the line separating comments: needs to be moved to below the …reply | 4: Pony field (it now separates the commenters sig line from their screen name… take a look

    – the text at the beginniing of the diary needs to be moved down from the |subject promote|

    – the end of the diary in the extended text (you don’t have it here)… last sentence needs to space from the | Tags: DinoMeta line (
    – and OTB will be back today (one can only hope)…

but i do like the willingness to experiment…

if you can reproduce that gold of buddha; it would give the bloxes not only warm color but texture… that would be cool….. i mean warm…

make all the text the dark blue and throw in the maroon in ood numbers into the links under the bloxes

and maybe make the screen name lines and reply etc all the dark blue… and then tweak up the blue background… with the columns still white and the FP still white but around the blue… worth a try

  8. …but I do love the tiger.  By the time one gets to the end of a page of comments, one (at least this one) can be a bit fatigued.  Burnt.  And there is the tiger, all fierce and proud.  Burning bright, even.  In a style which is very hard not to smile at hugely.

    between my comments! 🙁

I like the maroon, ek, as you may’ve surmised.

and can we pretty please have our usernames unitalicized?

and maybe the links just stand out too much? I’m not really a fan of that color. looks just like the default for a hyperlink. sorry!
