The Daily Late Show

I’m still grappling with a new format for this piece so don’t expect it to look like much. The truth is I’m pretty busy until at least Tuesday and I’d rather direct my blogging energy elsewhere.

But I did want to let you know I’m trying to come up with something that represents continuity and is at the same time sustainable, which covering Stephen with the effort I once did is not.

The beauty part of The Daily Show / The Colbert Report was that it occupied a limited time span of just an hour and it was all News and Politics with little celebrity crap. If I wanted to be Perez Hilton I would be. Not that I don’t have (as faithful readers know) a really deep knowledge of contemporary popular culture, stronger in some areas rather than others, but because I don’t watch Entertainment to be bored. I couldn’t care less that Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddlestone are no longer an item, I want plot spoilers for Thor: Ragnarok (and who is Taylor Swift anyway?).

So I ain’t doing that. I’m probably not going to do much commentary at all as I don’t think it’s worth suffering through the tedious bits even if I could keep my eyes open.

You’ve always been enormously indulgent of my caprice and whimsey and I trust you’ll keep reading along as I work this out.
