Barry Ritholtz :The Left Right Paradigm is Over: Its You vs. Corporations

Poor posting etiquette, I know, but I really don’t have much time to write. Just read….

Consider:

• Many of the regulations that govern energy and banking sector were written by Corporations;

• The biggest influence on legislative votes is often Corporate Lobbying;

• Corporate ability to extend copyright far beyond what original protections amounts to a taking of public works for private corporate usage;

• PAC and campaign finance by Corporations has supplanted individual donations to elections;

• The individuals’ right to seek redress in court has been under attack for decades, limiting their options.

• DRM and content protection undercuts the individual’s ability to use purchased content as they see fit;

• Patent protections are continually weakened. Deep pocketed corporations can usurp inventions almost at will;

• The Supreme Court has ruled that Corporations have Free Speech rights equivalent to people; (So much for original intent!)

None of these are Democrat/Republican conflicts, but rather, are corporate vs. individual issues.

Excellent Article!

  1. know they are on the right.  To try to oppose corporate power and deny leftism is to deny one’s own position, and to admit one is easily intimidated by words alone.  Which corporate power will note and use with some alacrity.

  2. Why should a meager 306 million population enjoy stuff like human rights, cars and homes on 1/4 acre suburban paradises when the Superclass

    can make much better profit margins by taking all of this waste, meaning us, down.

    The sixty years of suppressed technology including free energy, age reversal and real spiritual harmony for everybody could be realized save for the small percentage, that 5% of sociopathically oriented assholes who just have the lust for control over others.  All over something we don’t need, money.  What is money other than that measure of the extent the sociopath exhibits his/her exploitation of others.

  3. whether to feel pissed or totally defeated.

    The Obama/Biden meme of “Suck it up”  is not reassuring.
