food and knowledge, and the food has a naughty tinge.

I saw an interesting segment on German tv this am on my 3am foray to the tv – The Supreme Court of Germany has ruled that welfare must be raised as it is not enough for a family to live on.  I love these European stations.

of Senate.  Will his wife keep her seat on the Board of such and such health company?

  1. is there a story connected with the artwork?

Why does the image evoke the scenario of an intelligent, but mischievous student who decides to play a trick on his prissy, Puritanical literature instructor?  The apple is no doubt meant to serve as a traditional means of currying favor with the teacher, hopefully resulting in a reduced sentence should the identity of the perpetrator be determined. The book is quite likely a well-worn copy of something like “Brave New World”, or “1984”, open to one of those graphic passages that, if filmed as written, would likely earn the flick a certain “R” or “X” rating.

While reading thru Greenwald’s blog, a commentator noted that Obama wants to privatize space travel.

NASA is expected to use its budget to encourage private companies to build and launch their own spacecraft.  NASA then pays the private companies to launch astronauts.  Like where have I been?  Hasn’t the space program been a boom in say microcomputers, laser technology, and several other medical breakthrus.

Without NASA, the Regenerable Biocide Delivery Unit, a municipal water treatment system critical for developing nations, would never exist.

What the hell is happening?  Where am I?  Waiter – a martini on the rocks please.

On a purely symbolic level, NASA has been a source of pride to the USA.  Why dismantle or attenuate it?
