Iron Chef Obama

As you may know, the original Iron Chef is one of my very favorites.  Who can forget Battle Anglerfish?

Tonight the Secret Ingredient is Michelle Obama’s organic Rose Garden.

Team Batali and Lagasse v. Ricky Flame and White House Executive Chef Cristeta Comerford.

I’ll not try to outdo Alton’s breathless commentary.  My fingers are not as fast as his tongue.  Feel free to contribute your ruminations about things culinary or political.

This 2 Hour Special will repeat at 9 pm PT.

  1. If there were any justice Mario Batali would never lose.  The simplicity of his preparation and his respect for his ingredients outshines even the legendary Masaharu Morimoto.  Ricky Flame is a glorified grill jocky who only has 2 flavors- hot, and hotter.

That said my prediction is a sympathy vote for Chef Comerford.

C’mon, this is so much more entertaining than the footsball.

  2. the reflecting pool is really green.

Interesting team pair ups. I would have split it differently.

  3. I’ve always felt that Bill Shatner had the over the top excess required except he didn’t go far enough.

    This guy is so tame.

    That quite an impressive garden

  4. I’ve never much worked with them.

    Do like the cabbage.

Had a discussion last night about Cole Slaw.

I hate it, but mostly because I’ve had the watery Mayonaise version.

Cabbage salad on the other hand is not so bad.

  10. on Saturday a weird mix of latino and asian with super loud Tejano music playing Jesus candles everywhere and some very unique clothing and herbs ect. There were also sexual supplements of unknown origin. I tried to talk my buddy into buying some but he balked.Of course we were the only white folk.

I saw these giant grapefruit things called Pomelos. They were the size of basketballs. I wanted to buy one just to say I did but wasn’t sure what the heck to do with it.
