WASHINGTON, December 17 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture today detailed plans to distribute $290 million to struggling dairy farmers. The assistance is part of a $350 million dairy assistance measure Congress approved at the request of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

To me, this is proof enough that even though a strong third party in the US might help some, it wouldn’t do much without removing all the money from the picture–all of it, and even then we’d still be in the woodshed.

that the nationwide foodbank and the clinics (which are needed) are more generously scattered. And the clinics especially are a good idea – I’ve often thought of it myself. Vermont farmers are getting money – not some corporate structure – I see a difference.
