World Series Liveblog

More frivolity.

I may nod off tonight since this is the third in a row I have been late to bed and early to rise.

Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to sleep in.

My beef with Pedro Martinez is that the Mets paid him way too much and he wasn’t that good for them, spending most of his contract injured.

Pedro was never the healthiest player, a slip of a thing compared to the steroid giant- Roger Clemens, but he did have a really fast fastball.

Which is now not so fast.

So tonight we get to see how age and guile does.

Yankees fans remember him as the guy who put Don “Zip” Zimmer on the ground.

Cluestick- Zimmer was a BoSox retread too, don’t get your knickers in a twist.  At least he doesn’t deliberately throw at people (did I mention Rounders?) and abuse steroids.

Clemens- you’re an asshole.  The only reason I hope I’m wrong about Christianity is so that you can burn in hell for eternity.

If the Phillies win tonight we may not make it back to New York.

Suits me just fine.

  10. I’ve been following the game while cooking and now I’m sitting down to watch.

I’m Phillies all the way (I always root for the National League – except the Dodgers!) but I would love the Series to go to Game 7.  The end of the baseball season is bittersweet for me.  Means winter is not far behind.  🙁

uh oh – Philadelphia is facing a transit strike starting Saturday.  That could be a problem for the Phans!

Philadelphia’s transit agency remained in negotiations with its largest union Thursday in hopes of avoiding a strike that could disrupt bus and subway services just as the New York Yankees come to town for the World Series.

The Transport Workers Local 234, which represents 4,700 bus and subway operators, mechanics and cashiers, says its members will walk out if a new contract with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority is not reached by the end of the week – possibly as early as 12:01 a.m. Saturday.

  14. My Yankees kick bazoo. 🙂
