President Obama, What Will You Do Now, Sir?

(Xposted from WWL)

I know what I’m doing, Mr. President. I’m refusing. I’m rebelling.

I’m refusing to be coerced into supporting the Megaindustry of Insurance, for the only thing that has been ensured is that their profit will grow.

So are many, many like minded people who cannot afford these new premiums, this new cost of existence in a world in which many of us were barely getting by prior to the burden you added. A burden, mind you, that benefits only the elites. A burden that was approved also, by the greed of the few whose retirement was placed in the gambling dens of the same elites, for upper middle class entitlement has always been their enabler.

So, what will you do now that we cannot pay? What will you do when the employers themselves dump their benefits, and create more customers who will not, or cannot pay for your new mandate?

Shall we all go to debtors prisons?

What will you do when the Dow dives? How will you force us to provide ever more fodder for Wall Street? How will you get blood from the rock?

There it was, your chance to follow the other Democratic Leaders of history in saving the quality of life for your citizenry, and you blew it, sir.

You, at their behest, widened the economic disparity, sold out our social nets and created the food riots on the streets.

You became the scapegoat of sameness, the co-opter of collapse, the patsy of the Public betrayal.

Bush destroyed the Constitution, and you enforced its destruction.

Your legacy is race riots, food riots, health care in crisis, and the demise of our social contract of civility. The veil of superiority is gone, we are truly a Third World nation.

None of us will pay, none of us will go quietly from our homes. There isn’t enough manpower in your military to evict us all, nor return to evict the next wave of squatters that occupy any homes they try and repossess. Will you put armed guards at the Hospitals when we come there seeking attention? We will crash those gates. We will burn out the bastions of McMansion traitors who felt so very entitled to their investment returns enough to support the Bailouts of the rich. They wanted THEIRS, and now shall get it in spades. They could have let them fail, and supported Social Contracts, a Social and Civilized Democracy, but no, they felt entitled to their superior quality of life; vacations, silver spoons, and wine tasters while those of us merely one tier down lost our homes.

What will you do now, sir?

Finland sees Wifi as a human right, yet you and yours did not see medicine nor protection from homelessness, poverty and starvation as a human right.

You had a chance, sir, to begin moving this country, with enormous approval and support, toward a Greater Society, a contract of human rights that would make us strong. Instead, you sold it out to the highest bidder. A bidder now bankrupted by our refusal to play.

You sold us like harlots to a pimp that has now abdicated to parts unknown, with most of the Country’s assets in Swiss Bank accounts, or the Caymans. The unwashed masses, the rabble is now unleashed, and the elites have gotten while the getting was good.

Our coffers are too empty to even create safety nets, now. Our currency is worthless, anyway, and all other Nations are calling in their debts from us.

I refused, they all refused whether from ethics or necessity, and the game is over.

What will you do now, sir?

Sure we can have our medical marijuana, and spend our time prosecuting goofy stuntsters, while the engineers of our collapse go scott free.

    Fuck it.

    Burn it down.

That’s how I’m feeling this morning.

  1. The pilot program was here in mAssachusetts.  Mandatory junk insurance and if you can’t afford that the state goes after your estate if you are over that ancient age of 55.  The efficiency of the post office, the compassion of the IRS and the removal of you from decisions about your own health.
