Obama’s War Rhetoric

Now we seemingly have the Democrats back on track for some type of real health care reform which includes a public option, though we must concede the reform is TINY in the scheme of things, let’s see if we can’t get the Democrats to end these illegal, irresponsible and immoral wars.

Obama in a major speech before the Veterans of Foreign Wars – and ALL of America’s wars are foreign, an irony lost on most everyone – Obama continued to bang the war drums in Afghanistan with the same old lies and used-car rhetoric spewed by the war-criminal Bush regime: We’re fighting them there so we don’t have to fight them here.

The insurgency in Afghanistan didn’t just happen overnight and we won’t defeat it overnight,” he said.

Well, it hasn’t been overnight, it’s been eight murderous years. And the insurgency, the Taliban, is the former government of Afghanistan which we overthrew in a hasty, emotional and ill-informed response to 911. And in eight years we have not accomplished anything and the US and NATO have had their collective military ass handed to them by this “insurgency” of small arms and big hearts. And the truth is we won’t “defeat” this insurgency ever and the idea of Victory in Afghanistan is a pipedream of a lost empire on its last legs.

“This will not be quick, nor easy. But we must never forget this is not a war of choice, this is a war of necessity,” he said. “If left unchecked, the Taliban insurgency will mean an even larger safe haven from which al-Qaeda would plot to kill more Americans,” he said.

Huh? Not a war of choice? WTF? A war of necessity? Has Obama drunk the war crime Kool-Aid of Dick Cheney? Al Qaeda? You mean the Al Qaeda founded and run by Western Intelligence funded through Saudis petro-dollars – another regime-creature of Western Intelligence and Big Oil. Can President Charming really be so stupid or is he just using the rhetoric of Neo-cons to mask the Grand Chessboard strategery of the trusted Democratic advisor Zbigniew Brzezinksi to surround and capture the oil treasure in Central Asia?

Also, Obama infers the war in Afghanistan is now Afghanistan 2:0, a reboot, and starts with him – to ignore, forget and excuse the last eight years of failure. No, we have a brand new happy-shiny strategy bound to succeed. Victory is at hand, but you know, not now, or soon even, but the Horizon is right over there somewhere behind the smoke and mirrors and blood and bone.

Those who attacked America on 9/11 are plotting to do so again.

Kool-Aid.

…This is not only a war worth fighting. This is fundamental to the defense of our people.

Kool-Aid.

And at every step of the way, we will assess our efforts to defeat al Qaeda and its extremist allies, and to help the Afghan and Pakistani people build the future they seek.

Double-shot.

Even as we lead and equip our troops for the missions of today, we have a third responsibility to fulfill. We must prepare our forces for the missions of tomorrow.

Ruh-roh. Invaders from Outer Space! AHHHHHH!

Obama never promised us peace. On the contrary Obama promised us escalation. But Holy Shit, can’t the rhetoric of aggression be more honest? We’re not chasing the ghosts of Al Qaeda, a fabricated and exaggerated threat. We are pursuing a geo-strategic nightmare of long-foreseen resource wars because America prefers its Big Stick to quiet talk – to ask politely to plunder, pillage, rape and murder the lands and peoples of the Foreign.

Obama’s war rhetoric is worn, tired and filled with the falsehoods of an Orwellian Ministry of Truth. Still Crazy After All These Years might as well be America’s new National Anthem.

The good news, as more American and NATO forces are snookered into traps and gullies of death amongst high mountain passes, mixed with this rhetoric of poppycock, we see a revitalization of the Peace Movement. Folks are traveling to land of the pampered and the privileged to protest against another in a long line of war criminal presidents – Trying to bring reality to President Charming’s excellent summer vacation.

Because, over the course of months we see the truth: Obama is just another mouthpiece for an evil empire born from a promise of human dignity and mutual respect. Was there a defining moment when the US lost its soul or was it the mission creep of the required expansion of markets which Kapitalism needs for survival?

Does it matter?

The only thing that matters is to end global militarism in a competition of incompetents.

  1. have a very real incentive– “Afghanistan is becoming the new gold mine for the war industry”.

The Pentagon brass is largely unchanged since Obama took office.  High-ranking military officials well understand that there are lucrative careers waiting for them in the War Industry following their military retirement.  They know this is especially true if said Brass while still working for the military makes sure that the War Industry’s interests are promoted and protected.

The Pentagon personnel have a vested interest in promoting war–and in supporting the goals of the War Industry. Of course they are going to do their best to convince each new President that their pet wars are engaged in/continued.  As Afghanistan is “a new gold mine” for the War Industry, it will take some very loud yelling at our Congress Critters and at the Administration to bring our troops home and end this quagmire.

Obama must be forced to understand that he’d better come up with a well-defined and publicly stated mission in Afghanistan, a viable plan to make it work, an exit strategy, and a timetable for withdrawal.  If he does not, he needs to understand that his Presidency, like Lyndon Johnson’s won’t be defined by his successes, but by his failure to end the war(s). Johnson was instrumental in getting much historical social legislation passed, like Medicare and the Civil Rights Act–however, most people remember him for refusing to end the Vietnam War.  That’s how Nixon got elected.  Did Obama forget to read that part of his history lesson?

  2. Three, three fucking days after the “great Democratic victory” of 2006 Nancy Pelosi sent me an email thanking me for my efforts and outlining her priorities for the new agenda.

Homeland Assholianism in HR 1 was at the top of the list.

  3. The image of the crosses is taken at Santa Monica pier,or “Arlington West”.

Do you know if they still display that on Sundays.

I will go do a photo essay on this display if so.

If any one knows, please advise me.

    This is a terrific essay.

I can`t believe there is not more anti-war protest about the wars of aggression.

It seems the MIC, is banking on that fact. (pun intended)

  4. Obama is the latest in a long line of Captains dating back to Truman, all “elected” by we the people, but in reality they have ALL been nothing but Captains that have continued “to steady the tiller” of the USS Empire.

From Korea to Afghanistan & all the wars in between, American Corporate Empire is THE BUSINESS of America. Since WW II America has been constantly at WAR, without a single victory, Korea (still there), Vietnam (lost), Cold War (TRILLIONS spent yet no victory), Iraq I (we left), Iraq II (we “will” leave), Afghanistan (three words: graveyard of empires)- you get the idea.

Over the last 60+ years America has spent TRILLIONS upon TRILLIONS upon TRILLIONS for American Corporate Empire. WHAT HAVE WE GOTTEN FOR THAT UNGODLY SUM OF MONEY??? WAR, ENDLESS WAR. To quote a great song – “WAR, what is it good for? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!”

President Obama ran on CHANGE. Well “IF” Obama “REALLY” wants to give us “REAL”, “TRANSFORMATIONAL” CHANGE, Obama need only do ONE THING – take his hand off the “tiller” of the USS Empire. THAT WOULD TRULY CHANGE “EVERYTHING”!!!

Then there would be money for Health Care, Education, Solar Energy, Infrastructure, the list goes on…

We keep going “out there” to fight “the enemy”, but our GREATEST enemy is AMERICAN CORPORATE EMPIRE!!!!!

    ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
