Reading Between The Lines Of White House Lies

This should not come as a surprise:

Cheney Wants A War With Iran Before The National Election

How do I know this?

Because Cheney/Bush may fool some of the people all of the time – but not this fool anymore.

Did I hear you just say that you don’t want to be treated like a fool?  Then join me below the fold for a reality check on the latest installment of the on-going series:

White House Lies About Iraq War…Again

I watched the Betray Us Hearings (and the name fits more now than ever) and didn’t even twitch at the cascade of outright falsehoods coming out of his and Crocker’s mouths. I was already prepared this time. Like watching the Academy Awards with my own prepared list of  “who is going to win what” beside me, I sat with a pencil in hand during the televised hearings.

In my other hand was a list of points I expected P/C to say. While watching, I placed a check mark next to every point they said that was on my list.

Later, I took that list and filled in my own interpretation of what these 2 were really saying. Then I compared them.

WOW – these two version were exact opposites of each other
.

Stunned that I might have broken through the White House BS Barrier, I checked the latest news coming out of Iraq

To my amazement (not) my version seemed to line up with facts on the ground. Theirs? Well, you be the judge:

What I Expect To Hear Today From Petraeus/Crocker

(1) The Surge Has Been A Success

(2) But That Doesn’t Mean Iraq is Secure

(3) But it Does NOT Mean Iraq is Less Secure

(4) One could say it is Marginally more Secure

(5) Because The Surge Has Been A Success

(6) We do NOT need a Second Surge

(7) But That Does Not Mean Any Troops Can Come Home

(8) This May Sound Contradictory

(9) Because We Have Never Fought A War Like Iraq Before

(10) It would be foolish to Predict Stability

(11) Even Though Our Troops Are The BEST

(12) Therefore They Have To Stay

(13) No we do NOT know how Long

(14) No we do NOT know how Many

(15)    WE Recommend Everyone Stay Where They Are For The Foreseeable Future

(16) Actually We INSIST They Remain Where They Are

(17) So That We Do Not Give in to The INSURGENCY

(18) So That Renewed Bloodshed Does not Return

(19) Because The Surge Has Been A Success

(20) No we do NOT Exactly know who the Insurgents are

(21) Could be Al Qaeda

(22) Could be the Iran backed SPECIAL FORCES

(23) Could be the Sunnis

(24) Could be the Shiites

(25) Could be All of The Above

(26) Do NOT question our judgment

(27) Or the blood of many innocents will be on YOUR hands

(28) Any questions?

My Interpretation of What They were REALLY saying

(1) The Surge Has Been A Success

The Surge Has Been A Military Failure

(2) But That Doesn’t Mean Iraq is Secure

We Are Going From Bad To Worse

(3) But it Does NOT Mean Iraq is Less Secure

          Eroding All of Our Gains

(4) Although it is Marginally more Secure

          We Underestimated Our Enemy, AGAIN

(5) Because The Surge Has Been A Success

Thereby Insuring The Surge Be A Failure

(6) We do NOT need a Second Surge

          WE NEED A SECOND WAR

(7) But This Does Not Mean Any Troops Can Come Home

We will need the troops for this next battle

(8) This May Sound Contradictory

But We Cannot Tell You This Truth

(9) Because We Have Never Fought A War Like Iraq Before

Fighting A War For Oil Required New Strategies

(10) It would be foolish to Predict Stability

          Like Fostering Constant Instability

(11) Even Though Our Troops Are The BEST

Even breaking the back of our Army

(12) Therefore They Have To Stay

Protecting The Oil Fields is Paramount

(13) No we do NOT know how Long

And Will Be Ongoing – without an end in sight

(14) No we do NOT know how Many

Initially we will need all boots on the Ground

(15)    Leave all troops Where They Are Until The Foreseeable Future

At least Until We Have Gotten IRAN to stop Meddling

(16) Actually We INSIST They Remain Where They Are

A Volunteer Army Was Part Of Our Strategy

(17) So That We Do Not Give in to The INSURGENTS

As was being a PERMANENT Occupying Force

(18) So That Renewed Bloodshed Does not Return

           So was arming The Sunnis

(19) Because The Surge Has Been A Success

This was the real strategy of The Surge

(20) No we do not know precisely WHO the Insurgents are

So was constantly changing the ENEMY

(21) Could be Al Queda

At first we said it was Al Queda

(22) Could be the Sunnis

Then we said it was the Sunnis and Al Queda

(23)    Could be the Shiites

Now We Are Shifting The Focus Again

(24) Could be the Iranian backed “”Special Forces””

To the Shiites Most Controlled By IRAN

(25) Could be All of The Above

It’s Really ALL of The People of IRAQ

(26) It’s best not to question our judgment

Do you really want to see how complicit you are?

(27) Or the blood of many innocents will be on YOUR hands

In what we have done for that oil?

(28) Any questions?

No? We didn’t think so.  Stop meddling Iran as

we just got the green light to come after you

How I stacked up

OK  – I confess to missing more than a few key points. So instead of my sarcasm, I am leaving you with a most excellent piece by 2 British writers. They have created a unique timetable of events in Iraq and their own prism from which to view Bush Co. fact from fiction. One might even say they inspired me to write this essay. Here is the link

http://indexresearch.blogspot….

Also, here is a link to a piece by Pat Buchanan in which he sees war with Iran within reach

http://www.antiwar.com/pat/?ar…

And lastly this from USA Today:

Many Sunnis have lost faith in the Iraqi security forces after last month’s offensive against Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr’s Mahdi Army militia in the southern city of Basra and parts of Baghdad, said Khaled Jamal al-Qaisi, a Sunni leader in the Fadhil neighborhood.

We can’t afford to be fooled again
