Boston Legal goes to the Supreme Court

On prime time… on prime time. Actors representing the real justices and these people and their decisions being bashed ON PRIME TIME. It’s too good. And guess who showed this to me??????????? My republican brother-in-law.

Wow.

Tears in my eyes… couldn’t help myself… this is on prime-fucking-time:::

it gives some reality… a shaping of what is possible and doable… that indeed, this is what we can do and must do… challenge and fight the conventional wisdom.

    thanks pf♥~

  1. that is truly one of the most powerful pieces of tv I’ve ever seen. It does remind us of news that is made regularly by a branch of government that we too often ignore.

  2. that video took forevah!!  and then i dont even get to see how the court ruled????  d’oh!!

  3. for finding the inspirational.

  4. … I guess I’m in the minority here by far.

I can see there may be some value in this clip to persuading folks like your b-i-l that our Supreme Court is majorly fucked up.  I wonder, tho, if that will translate into any real action.

I remember becoming very disturbed when I saw all the liberal lawyers at my job and so many progressives in general who were so into the West Wing after the disastrous 2000 selection.  Too many people escaped into fictitious scenarios of how things should be and didn’t do a damned thing about it in reality.  It was almost enabling the Bushies in a way … folks would get their fix of fictitious heroism and then feel satisfied as if they had actually done something.

This clip … maybe because I work for lawyers, that’s why my view is different.  That would never happen in the Supreme Court or any other courtroom, and if it did, it would have very little impact and the lawyer doing so might even be cited for contempt.  I can’t think of a single good lawyer who would make that kind of speech.

Again, if it pleases the masses and maybe changes someone’s mind, then it’s a good thing.  But I have real reservations as to whether or not that will happen.

    End of my minority opinion.

  5. have to break my boycott of ABC. I used to watch this show regularly. It was during the darkest of days during this mess and is a a little island of sanity. I quit watching this season as ABC is really bad on the news end and after they broadcast the movie on 9/11 I just stopped ever going there. I even made my poor husband watch his beloved Lost on the computer.

I’m going to start again. For awhile I used to joke that my news outlets were a sports caster, a lawyer show, and a comedian. Shows like this are one of the best ways to cut through the propaganda, and spin and bring people to understanding. I really like the fact that the characters are not all cookie cutter versions of liberals and conservatives.   Thanks P8 for showing this.

  6. You may be pleasantly surprised when you see James Spader excoriating the government for torture and racial profiling.

  7. Here’s a link to the video where Alan Shore is suing the govt. over the cost of the Iraq war:   Boston Legal Rant

  8. “free” trade agreements can override the pompous assholian attitudes of the shitheads (supreme “kangaroo” court) protrayed in this video.

Above that however is the dominance of the New World Order directive that We The People of the United States will be directed to Ask a more dominant World Authority to interviene and take apart our own corrupt and irrepairable United States “government”.

Henry Kissinger’s quote is easily Googleable under the heading New World Order Quotes.

I am a person committed to the benevolent survival of the humans closest to myself and the word “primetime” is considered an obscene obstacle to that end but in this case the message does indeed have value.

I have just been reminded that your “benevolent” government is subsidizing the further labotimization of American by offering coupons for the transition to digital TV and the resulting Orwellian Totalitarian Police State which will ensue because of it.
