Let’s hope Santa can give everyone what Bishop Tutu and HH the Dalai Lama wish for.

Put down that credit card, slowly, and step away from the mall…

  4. I had two choices this Christmas.  I could either throw myself into the gutter of fealing hopeless and horrible or I could get on this damned pony and ride.  For God’s sake we’re having a baby born around here so saddle up!  I reached for some of the heavy spiritual books that I sought out and lived on for awhile when my whole belief system fell apart for the umpteenth time after my disabled son was born.

Loo Tzu, Chinese founder of Taoism

Be empty.  Be still. Watch everything just come and go emerging from the source.  Returning to the source.  This is the way of nature.

    William Temple, Archbishop of Canterbury

If we are traveling heavenward, we are already in heaven

    Monoimos, Gnostic teacher

Abandon the search for God.  Look for him by taking yourself as the starting point.  Learn who it is within you who makes everything his own and says, “My God, my mind, my thought, my soul, my body.”  Learn the source of sorrow, joy, love, hate.  If you carefully investigate these matters, you will find God in your self.

Crowfoot, Native American warrior and orator

What is life?  It is the flash of a firefly in the night.  It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime.  It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.

Many teachers have gone before me and light my path.

My christmas tree bulbs are the size of beach balls and the lights are colored flood lights. Good thing I am deep in the Maine woods so it doesn’t bother any neighbors.

Don’t forget to lean down and give those kids a kiss.
