Rove’s first shot. (Updated w/ Markos 2)

Mark Adams favors us with the first report (that I have seen) on Markos’ antagonist/counterpart, KKKarl Rove.

Rove: Rhymes With Spoofiness by Mark Adams

As Mark points out, KKKarl devotes his first column to Hillary the anti-Christ.

The direct Newsweek link in case you wish to dispense with my and Mark’s editorial, though it might be nice if you slipped him a tip in the jar as you pass through.

Update-

Markos’ new piece is up too.

Make the Bush Record the Issue

Absent amnesia-which only happens on soaps-Democrats will be fine.

I owe this tip to SusanG.

As an Admin, she doesn’t need love but it’s always good for your karma to show respect.

Update 2– She points out in the comments of Mark’s diary that this second piece is the one that’s going in the print version, the original was on-line only

  1. When I post BREAKING I don’t like to comment much.  I’d prefer you make up your own mind.

    please pass the popcorn…

don’t forget the beer…I’m gonna need that!

  2. He’s good.

I had to read it three times to fully grok all of the psych manipulation he packed into a short piece.

    Scary.

  3. I just registered, and haven’t felt around the site too much yet.  Do you think I should cross-post my piece here?

  4. ONE:  Make it about personality rather than policy.  She’s a cold calculating nasty person.  Typical Rove, nothing new there.

TWO:  Make shit up about what folks are saying they care about.  Go out and listen to folks so you can make new shit up.  Have someone look up some good sound bites to make you look authentic.  Oh — and make it about personality instead of policy.

THREE:  Make it about personality rather than any real issue.  Oh, and don’t forget, make it about her personality.

Rove is a criminal and should be in jail.

And his lies are getting very old and stale.

  5. Is that what you recommend, Karl?  OK, here goes:

    1) You’re full of shit, Karl!

    2) Eat a bowl of flaming fuck, Karl!

    3) Eat shit and die, Karl!

    4) Karl, I’m going to cut off your head and shit down your neck!

So many images, so little time.

  6. that Rove writes off the issue of crime as not salient these days and in the very next sentence practically, he challenges Repugs to reach out to minorities. What…does he not even hear things like 34 children killed on the streets of Chicago in less than a year?? But then I don’t suppose he has calculated those people of color who live in urban areas as worth reaching out to.

And he also doesn’t say a thing about the one issue the Repugs are most likely to use as their quintisential “wedge” this year – immigration. Imagine that!!

  7. NEWS/NATIONAL NEWS — PLUS — auto-replay of last CNN? Dem debate, where JRE and BHO chihuahas tag-team nips at HRC heels. HRC who is a candidate is the topic of Rove’s exposition.

26 Nov issue, meaning *.com re-pro of Newsweek print. (Duh)

Author’s bio: “Rove, former senior adviser and deputy chief of staff for President Bush, is a NEWSWEEK contributor.”

    Moulitsas (y Zuniga<)/POLITICS: 621

Topic is Congressional Democrats’ inability to thwart GWB, “Can Democrats Stand up to Bush?”.

    Moulitsas (y Zuniga)/NEWS/NATIONAL NEWS: 821

GWB who is NOT a candidate is the topic of Moulitsas’ exposition.

26 Nov issue, meaning *.com re-pro of Newsweek print.

Author’s bio: “Moulitsas, a NEWSWEEK contributor, is the publisher of dailykos.com, a progressive Web site that generally supports Democratic candidates.”

Democrats (and ‘netroots’) accommodation + GWB curriculm vitae = THUGs 2008.

Do I hear, a “reach around”? I SAY, do I hear a “reach around”?

  8. slime keeps obscuring the type. So thanks Mark your translation on the money and way funnier. Kos did good, and as SusanG points out the audience for Newsweek is different then the blogs. However I have never been a big fan of the argument of just focusing on Bush, wish it could be more about what the Democrats can offer and how they will stand up, silly non realist me!

  9. with a few declassified cribs from Goopers for Dummies sprinkled in for flavor.

    What new from Karl?

    I did like this though:

Be strong on Iraq. Democrats have bet on failure. That’s looking to be an increasingly bad wager, given the remarkable progress seen recently in Iraq. If the question is who will get out quicker, the answer is Hillary. The Republican candidate wants to recast the question to: who will lead America to victory in a vital battleground in the War on Terror? There will be contentious fights over funding the troops and over intelligence-gathering right after the parties settle on their candidates. Both battles will help the Republican candidate demonstrate who will be stronger in winning the new struggle of the 21st century.

Apparently Karl hasn’t learned his lesson after rinding precisely these same arguments to an historic debacle in 2006.

Luckily for our side, the political tsunami that hit him last last cycle didn’t drown his gluttony more self-punishment.

You wanna run on Iraq in 2008 Karl?  Bring it on.

  10. This whole Newsweek experiment has me feeling uneasy.  Kos is being the anti-bush, and Rove is being the anti-Hillary.  What does that mean to us?  Well, to put it simply, we’ve got our candidate to defend(Hillary, so don’t bother going to vote in the primaries, as it’s been decided for us who we can have), while the GOP can keep all criticism of them focused on their icon of failure, bush.

After the primaries, however, it won’t be about bush, or his failed policies.  It’ll be about the Democratic Senator and presidential candidate who failed to lead congress to change the disastrous policies of bush…so vote for real change, vote for the new Republican candidate (fresh and clean after a quiet primary season).

Oh well…at least Markos will make a few bucks in the process, so it’s not all bad.
