Pony Party, “Blender”‘s 10 worst songs ever

I can’t find the link to the actual Blender article, but USA Today covered it, so we can borrow their linky…no?

10. Ebony and Ivory, Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson
  9. American Life, Madonna
  8. Party All the Time, Eddie Murphy
  7. Don’t Worry, Be Happy, Bobby McFerrin
  6. The Heart of Rock and Roll, Huey Lewis and the News
  5. Ice, Ice, Baby, Vanilla Ice
  4. Rollin’, Limpbizkit
  3. Everybody Have Fun Tonight, Wang Chung
  2. Achy Breaky Heart, Billy Ray Cyrus (Hannah Montana’s daddy)
  1. We Built This City, Starship

The Blender issue hits the newsstands today, with their complete list of ‘The 50 Worst Songs Ever’.  (in my Kip from ‘Napoleon Dynamite’ voice) “Like anyone could even know that….”  😉

Because it’s fun to quote USA Today quoting Blender…

Each dud had to be a hit to make the hit list. Though Right Said Fred’s I’m Too Sexy got in, such novelties as Macarena and Who Let the Dogs Out, which by design are cheesy, were nixed. The jury also whittled down the bulk of “rotten, excruciatingly bad low-hanging fruit from the ’70s,” Marks says.

If using an awesome hook like “ding-ding-ding-di-da-ding-ding” (however illegally) cant keep you off the ‘worst’ list, I don’t know what will.  That’s probably why I don’t write songs.  6:01, but worth it to see the live version….  🙂

Yeah, why CAN’T we give love one more chance???????

Here’s hopin’ that this Pony Party doesn’t make it to any ‘worst’ lists…

Please don’t recommend the Pony Party…and without further ado, the floor is yours…

…except for, like the Billy Ray Cyrus, maybe, when compared to stuff like D-I-V-O-R-C-E or Ballad of the Green Berets.  And why isn’t the Macarena on there.

My opinion only, I suppose.  But I like Bobby McFerrin.  And Heart of Rock and Roll wasn’t that bad.

  1. Candy Man by Sammy Davis Jr is on my list but obviously nothing can compare to Bobby Goldsboro’s “classic”.
