Can’t say nobody didn’t tell them so.

How much of this do you think will be reported on our 24/7 media outlets, especially in detail!!

Secret memos expose link between oil firms and invasion of Iraq

Started talking about a year before the Brits gave approval for the blair to embrace the bush!

19 April 2011 – Plans to exploit Iraq’s oil reserves were discussed by government ministers and the world’s largest oil companies the year before Britain took a leading role in invading Iraq, government documents show.

The papers, revealed here for the first time, raise new questions over Britain’s involvement in the war, which had divided Tony Blair’s cabinet and was voted through only after his claims that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.

Yep them there WMD’s, weapons of mass destruction, were all over the place along with those many other changing excuses for justification!

The minutes of a series of meetings between ministers and senior oil executives are at odds with the public denials of self-interest from oil companies and Western governments at the time.

The documents were not offered as evidence in the ongoing Chilcot Inquiry into the UK’s involvement in the Iraq war. In March 2003, just before Britain went to war, Shell denounced reports that it had held talks with Downing Street about Iraqi oil as “highly inaccurate”. BP denied that it had any “strategic interest” in Iraq, while Tony Blair described “the oil conspiracy theory” as “the most absurd”.

Nobody turned these over to Chilcot, wonder what else is well hidden only to come trickling out over the coming decades. And oh my, a shock, Shell oil Lied and the pols went along with it, surprise, surprise, surprise!

But documents from October and November the previous year paint a very different picture.

Five months before the March 2003 invasion, Baroness Symons, then the Trade Minister, told BP that the Government believed British energy firms should be given a share of Iraq’s enormous oil and gas reserves as a reward for Tony Blair’s military commitment to US plans for regime change.

The papers show that Lady Symons agreed to lobby the Bush administration on BP’s behalf because the oil giant feared it was being “locked out” of deals that Washington was quietly striking with US, French and Russian governments and their energy firms.

And even More Shocking reveal, the cheney/bush were dealin with other coutries and oil firms behind the Brits back, oh my and in Secret!!

Mr Muttitt, whose book “Fuel on the Fire: Oil and Politics in Occupied Iraq” is published next week, said: “Before the war, the Government went to great lengths to insist it had no interest in Iraq’s oil. These documents provide the evidence that give the lie to those claims.

“We see that oil was in fact one of the Government’s most important strategic considerations, and it secretly colluded with oil companies to give them access to that huge prize.”

Lady Symons, 59, later took up an advisory post with a UK merchant bank that cashed in on post-war Iraq reconstruction contracts. Last month she severed links as an unpaid adviser to Libya’s National Economic Development Board after Colonel Gaddafi started firing on protesters. Last night, BP and Shell declined to comment. {continued with some small cuts from the docs}

I’ll tell I’m Shocked, Shocked I say, oh wait a minute, I and hundreds of thousands, Millions, were saying almost exactly what this is reporting!!

Oh and Iraq’s output is up, yet so are oil prices rising, as the glut continues and nobody else stopped pumping!

  1. Shocking about Libya too.

  2. The supposed drawdown of US troops in Iraq is accomplished by increasing “for profit” companies participation.

  4. The only thing that is shocking is that we are finally seeing in print that which we knew all along.

Iraq was on the map for targeting in the PNAC’s plans.

Shortly after Bush and Cheney were seated in 2001 and prior to 9/11, the formation of the Energy Task Force was made with Cheney at its helm.  This Energy Task Force was charged with locating all oil fields, gas pipelines, refineries and terminals and to provide maps and all details pertaining to them. A final report of all findings, 2 charts detailing Iraqi oil and gas projects, and “Foreign Suitors for Iraqi Oilfield Contracts” was produced and the documents are dated March 2001.  Cheney Energy Task Force . . .  Judicial Watch obtained these documents through a Freedom of Information Act.

This fixation on war with Iraq would seem to explain why, from the very beginning of the Bush Administration, key officials were consulting with outsiders on possible replacements for Saddam Hussein and contemplating possible means of exploiting Iraqi oil fields. For example, in February 2001, Whited House officials discussed a memo titled “Plan for post-Saddam Iraq,” which mentions troop requirements, establishing war crimes tribunals, and apportioning Iraq’s oil wealth.81. [Ibid. Statement of Ron Suskind.] . . . . . .

In March of 2002, Vice President Cheney was telling his fellow Republicans that a decision to invade Iraq had been made:* . . . . .

Further, in the first seven months of 2001, covert bombing activity was begun by us, but minimal, to increase military pressure on Iraq.  Justification being given for these air attacks were “the allies recorded a total of 370 ‘provocations’ by the Iraqis against allied aircraft.”  In May of 2002, bombings increased, and then intensified in August of 2002 — “the raids had become a full air offensive.”

This “secret air war,” between August of 2002, and early 2003, our

allied aircraft flew 21,736 sorties, dropping more than 600 bombs on 390 ‘carefully selected targets’ before the war officially started.”.124. [Michael Smith, “General Admits to Secret Air War,” Sunday Times, June 26,2005, p. 2.]   Between March and November 2002, coalition forces attacked Iraqi installations with 253,000 pounds of bombs.  In June 2002 specifically, forces bombed Iraq with 20,800 pounds of munitions; in September 2002, the tonnage amounted to 109,200 pounds of bombs. .125. [John Byrne, “U.S. Changed Iraq policy to Begin Airstrikes Months Before War,” Rawstory.com*

These bombings continued right up to the time of actual invasion.  Crops, animal husbandry and other key targets were bombed.

The fact that we built the world’s largest U.S. Embassy in Iraq, was also a clue that we had mal-intent.

To this day, the Bush Adm. (and probably, the Obama Adm., as well) have yet to see fulfillment of one of their “benchmarks” — that being the signing of the “hydro-carbon law,” also referred to as the “Iraq oil revenue sharing” law (and oh, BTW, written by the U.S. government).  Yes, contracts have been awarded for maintenance, etc., having time constraints, but the MAIN benchmark is still hanging.

Will anything ever be done to these heinous criminals for lying us into a war, that has killed over 1,000,000 civilians, maimed and injured how many Iraqis, maimed and injured our soldiers, tortured and killed how many Iraqis, used white phosphorus and depleted uranium, which has caused rampant cancer and grotesquely deformed babies and the destruction to the life, the country is endless to speak of!!
