    in search of that elusive space,

    otherwise known as Solitude

    a truly endangered resource, indeed.

    One not appreciated enough, most times.

  1. solitude, residing in isolation next to Walden Pond, which is far more scenic now than it was when he resided there.  

    Thoreau had a direct view of the pond from his cabin, afforded by the clearcutting of the surrounding woods prior to his arrival there.  It has a much more pleasant look now, however, the pond view from his cabin is now obstructed.

  2. to stardom, making its first appearance on the Billboard Top 40 charts on July 1, 1972, and remained in the #1 position for six consecutive weeks, a pretty good run.  This video includes some great imagery as well…
