Poverty and Unemployment Is Still A Pre-Existing Condition

(Cross-posted from The Free Speech Zone)

The lack of a comprehensive PUBLIC OPTION makes this bill a fucking joke.

It’s not over yet since the Senate still has to vote on it for it to be finalized.

Here are the final touches to the bill that were passed as well.

Does it matter though?

Obama faced our nation’s crisis with no health coverage the same way Bush confronted 9/11.

Go shopping!:

The bill would require many employers to offer coverage to employees or pay a penalty. Each state would set up a marketplace, or exchange, where consumers without such coverage could shop for insurance meeting federal standards.

The budget office estimates that the bill would provide coverage to 32 million uninsured people, but still leave 23 million uninsured in 2019. One-third of those remaining uninsured would be illegal immigrants.

Oh boy!  A “marketplace”!  Like my own health care Flea Market.  Wonder if the knock-offs are as good as the real brand names.

Health insurers, for example, could not deny coverage to children with medical problems or suddenly drop coverage for people who become ill. Insurers must allow children to stay on their parents’ policies until they turn 26. Small businesses could obtain tax credits to help them buy insurance.

Possibly the only good thing to come out of it.  Um, but, about the “insurers must allow children to stay on their parents’ policies until they turn 26” part.  You do know that we have, at minimum, 10.4% unemployment in this country which amounts to a little over 32 million people unemployed in this country and therefore have no employer based health care or policies in which to have their kids under.

And of all the people in need of health care as the least of a safety net, they need it most, and you fail to help those people.

You could of gone with a single-payer universal coverage option and rammed that down their throats, but we all know you need the health care industries campaign contributions more than you need to fulfill your obligation to serve the people.

We get it.

So pat yourself on the back Democrats, you lived up to the expectations of your party.

You didn’t do shit.
