Banks Bet Greece Defaults on Debt They Helped Hide

Bets by some of the same banks that helped Greece shroud its mounting debts may actually now be pushing the nation closer to the brink of financial ruin.

Echoing the kind of trades that nearly toppled the American International Group, the increasingly popular insurance against the risk of a Greek default is making it harder for Athens to raise the money it needs to pay its bills, according to traders and money managers.

And we’re worried about health care? Like a country that allows these types of bank practices will really and truly give us health care upon which we can count?

Like today’s American government has any vision, muscle, or will to provide citizens with barriers against this wanton, greedy, disgusting behavior?

We talk about values, family, God. BULLSHIT. there is no value in the behavior of these thugs.

There is no value in a Democratic party that does not have, at its core and center, the call to accounting of these vampires. ACCOUNTABILITY… RULE OF LAW… respect for the value of common decency.

Stop whining about health care. Stop whining about assaults on the character of Democrats. Really. Wake the fuck up. Seriously.

This is our problem, and I repeat the NY Times headline: BANKS BET GREECE DEFAULTS ON DEBT THEY HELPED HIDE. ***** Talk about insider information***** Holy jesus moly. We are being devoured alive. And all we want is health care? Are you kidding me? Health care insurance can’t help us with this. There is no pill or surgical procedure for this. No vitamins or exercise regimen to solve this problem.

For me, it is clear: Democrats are complicit in this behavior. The bankers, the Wall Streeters, the fascist heads of global corporate dominance are the role models of wealth and power that have our politicians peeping all over themselves in submissive-behavior. Those we’ve elected turn out to be nothing more than underlings without the power of conviction or principle or decency. These people are represented by Obama’s selection of Tim Geithner and Ben Bernanke. Let’s not forget Rahm.

I posted this at dKos and here’s the end of my post : Again, for anyone reading who wants to quote the FAQ to me about this being a site to elect Democrats: bite me. This is so beyond that. The longer we are tied to conventional thinking about politics, the farther down the rabbit hole we will be dragged.

really. i wanna know: when is enough enough? what more do we need in order to rally against these fucks?

  1. You would think that someone, just someone in our legislative body would find this all pretty frightening stuff and see the long-term implications of it all, or, on the other hand, do they simply feel they can also go through whatever and come out unscathed?

I think Sanders and Kucinich are on top of it . . .. . but?

and you should have added….dragged, beaten and raped.

We need a real shift in thinking about governing this country.  The old Dem/Republican thing doesn’t work anymore.

  3. But there are many more waiting in the wings.

How many states are already in financial disarray? What is to stop them from coming for the States next?

I call this the Karl Rove syndrome.(I hope it catches on)

Win at all costs. The ends justify the means. Profit is the only thing that matters.
