Tough Love

On one side there are forces who will do almost anything for the ideology that justifies their greed and lust for power, unjust war, torture, corruption etc. They have no empathy or sympathy for others if they stand to gain by not having any. They seem to be able to shut their humanity at will when it is to their advantage, and to be able to totally dismiss the concerns and feelings of others.

Hmmmmm I guess we have to change that from “will do almost anything to … “do absolutely” anything, since they are also willing to kill an entire planet or at least billions of people, and combined with  unjust war, torture and corruption, really what else is there that they wont do?

On the other side are caring feeling people who want to do their best for The Greatest Good For All Concerned. Nice, feeling people who hate to see others suffering g and want equality, justice and freedom for all. Including those in the first category. Including them so much that “we” don’t want to be “mean” to “them.” That even when they do start unjust wars, torture innocent people and are patently corrupt, we are too nice to call them on it and hold them accountable.

Partially ….because “we” know that holding them accountable and punishing them not only won’t bring back the dead, untorture the innocents or stop their corruption (because another one of “them” will just replace the one in jail) but because we are too “nice.” We lack the heartless killer instinct, we lack the lack of empathy, we lack the ironclad certainty of the superiority of our class, our race, and the certainty that “god is on our side that they do.”

This puts us at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to fighting them, to stopping the horrible things they do….let alone doing the things that we would like to do, like making everyone’s lives better and such.

In fact, the worse they are the more we seem to compromise with them, the more we seem “forced” to overlook their crimes in the interest of keeping things “functioning.” The more corrupted we become by their corruption as we try to find some middle ground that does NOT include turning ourselves into monsters in order to fight monsters.

So how we do fight an enemy, and those who would compromise with them… that knows no shame and has no conscience….and that we cannot just take out back and shoot, or torture, as they would do and have done? Especially so with so much at stake?

The answer to that question may hold the key to the survival of humanity and the planet earth as we know it….and we better find that answer soon.

    How about like this?

No Time Left To Compromise With Evil

    by OPOL

Some people believe we shouldn’t complain too loudly, protest too vigorously or argue too passionately – the theory being that if we appear too leftist, too radical or too seriously committed to our beliefs that people who don’t share those beliefs will be offended and therefore unlikely to become seriously committed radical leftists themselves one day.  Well I have big news; those dim bulbs are not likely to ever shine – certainly not in response to our stifling ourselves.  For once, let’s let the smart people have their say.

If one guy believes in global warming denial, torture, war profiteering, and ripping off the poor and another guy objects to all of these things, then one of these guys is right and one is wrong.  This is not merely a difference this is a distinction.  I’m not saying the latter individual is more human than the former, I’m saying he is a better human…period.

    [snip]

Some people have said to me ‘I don’t trust anyone who claims to know the truth.’  My response is that some truths are complicated and some truths are simple.  It’s no great horror to know the simple truth when you see it.  Torture is an abomination, dropping bombs on babies is an outrage, people deserve healthcare and good treatment, and lying to the people is no way to run a democracy.  All of these things are true.

One does not compromise with Straussians, neocons, chickenhawks or clueless bastards.  People who still support George W. Bush, torture and war profiteering at this late stage of human history are beyond reason or persuasion.  There is no point whatsoever in worrying about how such people see things, what they might say, or how they might characterize our actions or arguments.  These people should not be appeased or wooed, they should be marginalized and driven back under the rocks from which they have slithered.

  2. to those who have done nothing but wreak havoc throughout this world (thanks to a bought and paid for media) and no attention given to action to counter their evil.  Too much talk, too little action!  Too many wussies in this country.

BTW, did anyone happen to see what 50 Italians did because they DO NOT WANT A MILITARY BASE OF OURS IN THEIR COUNTRY?

50 Italians Chain Themselves to Cranes to Stop US Base Construction

This is the resistance to our empire that is sweeping the globe, unbeknownst to most of us in the United States:

This is footage from today in Vicenza, Italy, where 50 women and men entered the construction site of the proposed mammoth new US military base in a location called “Dal Molin”.  They chained themselves to cranes and other machines.

    See more here and act!

O.K., buhdy, I believe in tough love, too — but, I’m patient, uh hummmm!    http://planetsmilies.net/angry-smiley-1549.gif

tell Israel to get the pacifier out of its mouth, grow up, stop lying, act civilized. Cut off Israel’s billions; send it on to Gaza instead.

    Get honest about Iran; http://www.raceforiran.com/is-

stop using the bogus threat of Iran to sell weapons to Arab states, http://www.npr.org/templates/s

U.S. officials, meanwhile, applauded the recent arms buildup in nearby Arab states as something that should be accelerated. … In his public remarks, General David Petraeus, head of the U.S. Central Command, urged Gulf leaders to beef up their weapons systems and cooperate more on security matters. He said America was feeling more welcome in this part of the world than it had for some time, largely because of worries about Iran. Petraeus said the United Arab Emirates alone in the past year had done $18 billion worth of business with the U.S., half of that coming in military purchases.

General DAVID PETRAEUS (U.S. Central Command): There’s a reason that they’re buying U.S., and we think it’s because the products are quite good. In fact, the fact is that because of those purchases and because of training and assistance and some great investment in human capital in the Emirates, the Emirati air force itself could take out the entire Iranian air force, I believe.

for the sake of Israel, who refuses to provide civilized aid to Gaza despite the pleas (however weak) of its bestest ally, and who will throw the US under the bus if US refuses to wage war on Iran http://www.israelbehindthenews

In three simulations conducted in Israel and the United States, relations between the two countries declined rapidly amid a dispute over a response to Iran’s nuclear weapons program. The simulations envisioned a diplomatic crisis as Washington sought to stop Israel from attacking Iran.

“The United States was unwilling to use military force or support Israeli military action even after other measures failed,” a report on the three simulations said. “U.S.-Israeli relations deteriorated dramatically.”

  4. dont back down. stick to your guns.  and the ol’ “Let Go With Love”…heh.

Just wanna crow a little because we (me and hub) just won a small victory in our little corner of the planet here. Our house has a garage apartment out back. Our Tenant…. biggest moocher freeloader ever but conniver too… been here for years and we finally FINALLY booted him outta here. yay. (long and sorta complicated story) but anyway. I mention it here b/c it relates… we were nice and initially we were helping him get a leg up. Ya know. (like we’ve done before for several friends, who mostly only stayed  about 6 months). This loser totally took advantage. He never woulda left until or unless we got all mean and stuff. heh.

Anyway, Ministry of Truth, the space is available if you need a place to crash for a few months ! LOLOLOL
