The Battle of America’s Deep

( – promoted by buhdydharma )

An allegory in four parts

Part I: The Warning of the Dirty Fucking Hippies

The power of the Enemy is growing.  The corporations will use their puppets, the Republicans, the media, and the Blue Dog corporatists and centrists, to enslave the people of America.  Fascism has been unleashed.  The eye of the corporations now turn to the last free people of America.  Their war on this country will come swiftly.  They sense the ring is close.  The strength of the Democrats is failing.  In their hearts, progressives being to understand, the quest will claim their freedom — all their freedom.  It was the risk we all took.

In the gathering dark the will of the Ring grows strong.  It works hard now to find its way back into the hands of Congressmen.  Congressmen who are so easily seduced by its power.  The young Captain of America has now but to extend his hand, take the Ring for his own, and the world will fall.

It is close, now, so close to achieving its goal.  For the corporations will have dominion over all life in America, even unto the ending of the world.

Do we leave America to its fate?  Do we let them stand alone?

Part II: Wormtongues

DFH’s: Democracy is badly wounded, my lords.  It was ambushed by the Supreme Court. If we don’t defend our country, Corporations will take it by force.

Apologists:  That is a lie! The moderates have ever been our friends and allies.

Obama:  Bipartisanship…? Lieberman … Snowe ..?

DFH’s: Blue Dogs and corporatists are roaming freely across our lands. Unchecked. Unchallenged. Killing our Democracy at will. Blue Dogs bearing the bloody hand of the Republicans.

Apologists:  Why do you lay these troubles on an already troubled mind. Can you not see? Your President is wearied by your malcontent, your class warmongering.

DFH’s: Warmongering?  How long since the corporatists bought you? What was the promised price, Apologist? When all the men are enslaved you will take your share of the treasure?

Too long have you watched our Treasury, too long have you haunted its steps.

Apologists: You see much, Dirty Fucking Hippies. Too much. You are banished forthwith from the kingdom of politics and all its domains. Under pain of banning!

DFH’s: You have no authority here. Your orders mean nothing.

Apologists: This order does not come from me. It comes from the Corporations and Republicans.  They signed it this morning.

Part III – The Final Betrayal

Blue Dog Apologists: American Democracy has one weakness.  Its outer wall is solid Consitution, but for some small cracks at its base, which are little more than a drain.

Blue Dog Apologists:  How?  How can the Supreme Court undo centuries of American Democracy?

Corporatists: If the walls are breached, American Democracy will fall.

Apologists: But my lord, there is no such army!

Corporatists:  A new power is rising.  Its victory is at hand.  This decade, the land will be stained with the Blood of American Freedom.  Take the corporate jet to Washington D.C.  Leave none unbought.  TO WAR!!!

Part IV: Coda of the Dirty Fucking Hippies

So much death.  What can men do against such reckless hate?

  1. But the story is similarly chilling.  Backstabbing.  Betrayal.  Failure.  All hail our corporate benefactors.  In their final victory, I am sure they will be merciful.

to achieve whatever little positive change we can within the corrupted workings of the political system, and to take direct action to achieve whatever change we must outside the system. We have no choice.

I remember after Kerry lost, how many people talked about leaving the country, perhaps going to Canada or Europe. Some may be tempted to follow through as things get worse here, but this isn’t really a viable option, because those working to subvert our democracy here won’t be satisfied with just America – they’ll be exporting their maliciousness to the rest of the world.

  2. We’ll get back to The Shire someday.

By rights we shouldn’t even be here.  But we are.  It’s like in the great stories.  The ones that really mattered.  Full of darkness and danger, they were.  And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end.  Because how could the end be happy?  How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened?

But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow.  Even darkness must pass.  A new day will come.  And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.  Those were the stories that stayed with you.  That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why.  But I think I understand.  I know now.  Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t.  They kept going. Because they were holding on to something–that there’s some good in this world. And it’s worth fighting for.

  3. fancy language in the Declaration. It sounded so awesome, not unlike Obama’s campaign bullshit. But when you get down to the nitty gritty, TJ set the course that all have followed: Abolishing slavery was just too disruptive (sound familiar?) and Indian policy needed to reflect the inevitability of American need for land and its control, thus “savages” became a nice label to attach to these heathens (sound familiar, like the T word?)

Twain coined the phrase “Guilded Age” (if I recall correctly), and I’m sure he wouldn’t be at all surprised if he were around today. Neither would Henry David Thoreau or Walt Whitman. Why? America’s history is short, and I mean real short, like 225 years. That’s about six generations.

This country was stolen and nearly all the Original Americans exterminated along with their cultures, while slavery was found to be essential to the developing economy. After the chicken shit, abrupt end of Reconstruction, dirt cheap immigrant labor was found to be essential for renewed economic growth. Then right after that, WWI was discovered to be the next type of profit making enterprise.

The whole f*****g thing fell apart during the 30’s, and the progressives and the aristocrats were battling it out evenly until WWII. Ah Yes, WAR; it always works wonders for the elite class, because patriotism and sacrifice win the hearts of the masses. Communism and Socialism are Anti-American, the Cold War is met with all our resources, and finally terrorism becomes our new bugaboo.

Just like our beginning, we must kill the savages, find cheap labor, and most of all, the masses must sacrifice for the good of the Republic. Remember, “In God We Trust” is on our most sacred of documents, our money, the real pocket prayer book of America.

But shoot whom exactly.  Surely we can’t get to those terrorists members on the Bilderberg/CFR/Trilateral Commission.  I think they want a domestic war, a violent revolution to justify the continuing war on all of us.
