    Merry Merry, Buhdy Buddy… 😉

  1. Much Frank’s insence and mirth to you.

  2. Could as well be a drone firing a rocket at you.

  3. … the celebration of the bill’s passage on the Great Orange Stain wrecklist.

And a comment in a celebration of this “historic” day: “If this is what it takes to be historic …”

Also a response to a “The bill that passed the Senate is the only bill that can pass the Senate”, “What a load of bull”, in TomP’s diary about why, and more importantly, HOW, the fight still continues: there are still Congresscritters in the House who are more worried about AFL-CIO endorsement than about whether the White House supports their re-election. It might not be many – but with a unified “no” vote from the Republicans, it doesn’t take all that many:

AFL-CIO’s Trumka: Congrats to the Senate, but “Substantial changes must be made in the final bill.”

We need to back Trumka, the AFL-CIO is about our only hope of making the most odious parts of the bill slightly less odious.

I’ve been trying to put my finger on the organizing principle of mistake behind Ezra Klein’s collection of mistakes on this policy issue, and I think it revolves around accepting that one side accepts a position that would be tolerable in the context of a workable system, but accepts it in an effort to prop up the commercial insurance corporations.

I think we should have reindeer instead of ponies.  Afterall, ponies need a day off now and then, too.
