9/11 suspects to be tried in N.Y. civilian court

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, 4 other detainees will trade Gitmo for U.S. soil

WASHINGTON – Self-proclaimed Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other Guantanamo Bay detainees will be sent to New York to face trial in a civilian federal court, officials said Friday.

NBC News confirmed that Attorney General Eric Holder plans to announce the decision later in the morning.

The Associated Press quoted an Obama administration official who was not authorized to discuss the decision before the announcement, and therefore spoke on condition of anonymity.

     no hope they will actually receive a fair trial.

    but at least it’s civilian court, not military tribunal.

    plans to fly planes into the buildings that killed a lot of people?

    When will we see criminal investigations and trials for whoever masterminded the controlled demolitions that collapsed the buildings and killed even more people?

  4. just had it on briefly on Dylan Ratigan morning show. He had guests, Ed Shultz and some others. Ratigan is all over it, Ed too, although Ed annoys me I confess, its the accent. Both saying this is gonna be a ZOO, and how testimony will tend to highlight for the american people all the crap that went on, ie the W.B. etc, and blow the lid off.

    Yah right. we’ll see. but I really dont think so. Most people really do want to see whatzizbutt strung up by the balls, and that he shoulda been WB’d 999 times, like 183 wasnt enough. People DONT CARE that it was illegal immoral or soulkilling.

    The long-awaited decisions on prosecution, part of President Obama’s quest to close the military detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, do not affect the vast majority of the 215 prisoners held at the prison. The decisions come on the same day that White House counsel Gregory B. Craig, a key manager of Obama’s Guantanamo Bay policy, is expected to announce his resignation.

    Ever since the Ft. Hood shooting (which is fishy as all hell) it’s been RAH RAH RAH 9/11, constantly.    

    They’re deliberately taking us back to the “terror terror terror!” mindset of that time.

    Who’s the terrorist, I ask?
