      “You guys,” David said, “are here to learn how to rule the world.”

    “It’s called a covenant. Two, or three, agree? They can do anything. A covenant is . . . powerful. Can you think of anyone who made a covenant with his friends?”

We all knew the answer to this, having heard his name invoked numerous times in this context. Andrew from Australia, sitting beside Doug, cleared his throat: “Hitler.”

“Yes,” Doug said. “Yes, Hitler made a covenant. The Mafia makes a covenant. It is such a very powerful thing. Two, or three, agree.”

     What Douglas Coe is talking about is fascism, Christofascism, where a few powerful dominate the masses despie their collective will and against their interests.

    Go below the fold. I’m Naming Names.

UPDATE:

    Let’s be honest, if I left out the D’s and only went after the R’s same people booing me would be applauding me for it, and my journalistic integrity would be ashamed of itself. Therefore, I went after everyone I could based on fact based evidence. If you are inclined to disagree, feel free to use the sources I have used to disprove my claims, or introduce other sources to the contrary. Any education on the matter is and will always be appreciated.

Further:     I assert that the precept of biblical Capitalism is Christofascism.

I do NOT want to make it seem as though all Christians are fascists. Far from it

    You want proof that Fox’s 9/12ers and Tea Parties are Fascist oriented? Well both DeMint and Blackburn were guest speakers, and both of them subscribe to the Jesus + Nothing Biblical Capitalism as a laissez faire Free market system. It begs the question, which came first? Jesus or the Free Market Corporatism?

They believe in . . .

Jesus the Union Buster

Jesus the Tax Cutter

Jesus the De-Regulator

Jesus the Free market Unfettered Capitalist

and they say that

Jesus = Hitler

Jesus = Stalin

Jesus = Osama nin Laden

Jesus = Power

    Do you want bipartisanship? The “Christian Mafia” as founder Douglas Coe calls them will give you bipartisanship, but with a twist.

     Senator Mark Pryor (D-AR) denies involvement with The Family. However, Pryor told Jeff Sharlet directly during a phone call that he was indeed associated with the sect. He described to Sharlet some of what he’d learned there. On “the real meaning of bipartisanship”: “Jesus didn’t come to take sides, he came to take over.”

    Anyone who has studied Fascism knows it is NOT socialism or communism. It IS capitalism merged with the state. Corporatism is a better word for it. Nevertheless, the fact remains that a number of elected officials honestly adhere to the notion of biblical capitalism, a notion that is not too far removed from the idea of intelligent design or climate change denial. It is a way of re-writing history to suit an agenda. That is agenda is unfettered wealth and power in he hands of an undemocratic few. Call it fascism, corporatism, Oligarcy or Plutocracy, but it sure as hell isn’t Democracy, either politically or Economically.

    The Iron Heel of the Wealthiest 1% cares not for who is in charge, just as long as they are stamping on the face of the working class.

JEFF SHARLET: The Family began as this domestic organization way back in the 1930s, a union-busting organization. But by the ’50s, they-

AMY GOODMAN: What do you mean, union-busting organization?

JEFF SHARLET: Oh, they-it’s part of that invisible hand of the market. They believe that organized labor is ungodly, to put it mildly, perhaps Satanic. It began with this vision in 1935 that the New Deal and organized labor were literally a Satanic conspiracy they had to fight back.

In the 1950s, in the Cold War, they started moving overseas and identifying strongmen, dictators, who they thought were effective in the fight against communism, who they thought were effective in the fight for free markets. And Suharto was one of those men. You know, Suharto, who-even the CIA, which helped him orchestrate his coup, later said it was one of the worst mass killings of the twentieth century.

    At the 1990 National Prayer Breakfast, George H.W. Bush praised Doug Coe for what he described as “quiet diplomacy, I wouldn’t say secret diplomacy,” as an “ambassador of faith.”

harpers.org

     The Family is headed by Douglas Coe

    The organization has operated under many guises, some active, some defunct: National Committee for Christian Leadership, International Christian Leadership, the National Leadership Council, Fellowship House, the Fellowship Foundation, the National Fellowship Council, the International Foundation. These groups are intended to draw attention away from the Family, and to prevent it from becoming, in the words of one of the Family’s leaders, “a target for misunderstanding.”

     The Family’s only publicized gathering is the National Prayer Breakfast, which it established in 1953 and which, with congressional sponsorship, it continues to organize every February in Washington, D.C. Each year 3,000 dignitaries, representing scores of nations, pay $425 each to attend. Steadfastly ecumenical, too bland most years to merit much press, the breakfast is regarded by the Family as merely a tool in a larger purpose: to recruit the powerful attendees into smaller, more frequent prayer meetings, where they can “meet Jesus man to man.”

    The Co-Chairs of the last 4 National Prayer Breakfasts (an honor I assume the Family does not just bestow upon anyone)

2006 Senators Norm Coleman (R-MN), Mark Pryor (D-AR)

2007 Reps Emanuel Clever (D-MO), the late Jo Ann Davis (R-VA)

2008 Senators Ken Salazar (D-CO), Mike Enzi (R_WY)

2009 Reps Heath Shuler (D-NC), Vernon Ehlers (R-MI)

     This years National Prayer Breakfast has President barack Obama as it’s guest speaker.

President Obama:     “Good morning. I want to thank the Co-Chairs of this breakfast, Representatives Heath Shuler and Vernon Ehlers. I’d also like to thank Tony Blair for coming today, as well as our Vice President, Joe Biden, members of my Cabinet, members of Congress, clergy, friends, and dignitaries from across the world.

Michelle and I are honored to join you in prayer this morning. I know this breakfast has a long history in Washington, and faith has always been a guiding force in our family’s life, so we feel very much at home and look forward to keeping this tradition alive during our time here.”

    And about that long history of the National Prayer Breakfast that is hosted by the C Street’s Familt or Christian Mafia every year, the one Obama is glad to continue? (In all fairness, President George W. Bush attended many, if not all of them too)

    The Family was founded in April 1935 by Abraham Vereide, a Norwegian immigrant who made his living as a traveling preacher. One night, while lying in bed fretting about socialists, Wobblies, and a Swedish Communist who, he was sure, planned to bring Seattle under the control of Moscow, Vereide received a visitation: a voice, and a light in the dark, bright and blinding. The next day he met a friend, a wealthy businessman and former major, and the two men agreed upon a spiritual plan. They enlisted nineteen business executives in a weekly breakfast meeting and together they prayed, convinced that Jesus alone could redeem Seattle and crush the radical unions.

~snip~

    By the end of the war, nearly a third of U.S. senators attended one of his weekly prayer meetings.

In 1944, Vereide had foreseen what he called “the new world order.”

    I submit to you, fellow Progressives, something that is NOT a theory. This is FACT. This is mainstream media coverage, as reported by Rachel Maddow on MSNBC and by Harpers Magazine, among others. This is no theory, it is Conspiracy, Conspiracy to subvert America to a free market fascism where the wealthiest live by a different set of rules and will use ANYTHING to justify it, while the masses go hungry and lose everything to the profiteers who rip our bread from our children’s mouths. This is FACT. Even now, while Rome burns, the best our politicians can think of is how to screw us a little more, milk us a new way, this time it’s the insurers, last time it was the banks, the next time it’ll be the war profiteers again, drumming up unprovable WMD’s in a country far away so that we can continue our crusade against people who aren’t true believers as they are, and as they assume that we too should be.

     I am not wearing tin foil. The family IS FACT. If you would like to ignore it you can be my guest, but I thought this was a reality based community, and like it or not, this is the reality.

     I do NOT claim to know where President Obama stands on all of this. I am no mind reader. I hope Preisdent Obama means the best for us, but I will judge him by his actions, not his words.

     I do know where I stand on this, and it is pure and simple.

     I believe one of our Number 1 goals in the next election cycle should be to expose, humiliate and expel every last one of these Christofascists and their affiliates. I think we SHOULD throw this in the face of the entire Republican Party, both the elected officials involved AND the Conservative electorate, AND the Democrats involved should be thrown out on their asses.

     The fact is, C Street has 10 Active Senators. That alone should be cause for action. And I wouldn’t be surprised if this is just the tip of the iceberg.

     So where do we go from here? Our economy is falling apart and the rich are still getting richer, still doing the same thing they have always done, and nothing is CHANGING, nothing is making things better, all we are getting is MORE and BETTER EXCUSES. What do we do next?

     As far as I am concerned, the tea baggers are half right. There ARE fascists in our Government. Christofascists. They have been there for 70 fucking years, and they HATE FDR, they HATE regulations and the rule of law, but they sure do love their free market Corporatism.

     It is that same Free Market Corporatism that is fucking over 99% of the world’s population. It is destroying our planet, robbing our children and shoving our grandparents into an early grave. When do we start orgainzing against it? If not now, when?

    Michael Moore says we need to bring back Democracy as a system of Economics. Hell, I’d be glad to bring it back as a system of governance. The system is BROKEN, irrepairably broken. You want to take on the system? Great! Count me in! But first we need to figure out who we need to take on, and I’ll tell youthis for certain, it isn’t just the Republicans. That divide and conquer game is getting old. We need to take on the Corporations. We need to take on the CEO’s. We need to take on the Anti-Democracy faction in our country, and they frigging run the place in case you haven’t noticed.

    Should we work for MORE and BETTER Democrats? Yes! Absolutly! But that will certainly not be enough. We need more. We need more and better activists, more and better messages, more and better ideas, and  more and better Democracy.

     Yes, we should have hope. But more importantly, we need to see things as they are. Right now things are really fucked. What comes next? That is up to us, but we have to decide what we want first. Change isn’t specific enough. Let’s build something solid, something for all of us, something real, and something we can make progress with.

     But before we do that, we have to get the fascists out of the way. Just because Bush isn’t President anymore doesn’t mean that fight is over, not by a long shot.

  1. and facing the Reality. This is real and it is in BOTH parties. You want MORE and BETTER? Start by outing the ChristoFascists on both sides of the isle.

  2. Part of me has a hard time believing this.  Hillary?  A Christian?  Bush, a Christian?  I’ve read where Bush uses his Christianity as just a front.  Considering the evil he has done, I tend to believe it.  Otherwise, he has to be the stupidist person to ever inhabit this planet.

  3. I had to laugh at the freak out at DK as well.

    Personally I’d say that like any group some like maybe the I from Conn or Hillary aren’t true believers as much as opportunistic.  I’m sure many of the followers of any powerful group or person are the same.

  4. Call it fascism, corporatism, Oligarcy or Plutocracy, but it sure as hell isn’t Democracy, either politically or Economically.

    exactly right. people can call it whatever the hell they want, “but it sure as hell isn’t Democracy”

  5. Without having the courage to name names and specific offenses, nothing gets done.

  6. man, MoT, you really put in a full days work today! and every day!!

    We gotta get you a job. Not like I know anything about that…lol.

    heres a resource/research thing I found, do you use this kind of stuff? Its probably a wild goose.

    thanks for all you do.

    It’s the corporate board members. And it’s their groups – US Chamber of Commerce, Club for Growth, PNAC, etc.

    They all need to be removed from positions of influence. One way or another.
