My Apologies 20090914

Folks, I am sorry that I did not post the regular Pique the Geek here last evening.

Things are going poorly for me.

This week, Wednesday, Mrs. Translator goes to the court to become the former Mrs. Translator. That is a sad thing for me.

I still require employment, and applied to four different places yesterday.  Not any word back, but it is the weekend.

To top things off, a childhood friend of mine was killed in a traffic accident Saturday.  My dear aunt JoAnne called me around 1:00 PM Sunday afternoon to break the news.

So this has not been the start of a good week.  I promise to come back next week and write a good post about why water is a very wonderful material, but I just did not have the heart to do it tonight.

I write this to try to work around my grief.  Everyone here, almost without exception, have been very supportive, and I appreciate it.  I will let you know when the decree becomes active.

Sad, but warmest regards,

Doc

It’s been a rough year for an awful lot of people, myself included.  You’re in my thoughts.

  2. ((((((((((((Translator))))))))))).

Sending lots of love and good thoughts your way.

You’ll be in my thoughts, and I’ll look forward to reading your stuff again soon.

OT science talk — did you once do a diary on VX gas? Just curious. I remember that you did some stuff on chemical weapons some time ago…

  3. i remember the horrible time you went through with your wife’s illness awhile back. This is such very sad news. My heart is with you. Life can really kick you in the stomache, swing around and broadside you with a karate kick to the head that can bring you down to your knees.

It has been a very difficult year for so many of us. I am glad that you feel safe and supported here in these communities and hope we can be there for you to keep you alive, revive you and help you find the resilience and hope and faith to know that where there is ying there is always, always yang ….

  4. Been out of town today and just got back.  You sound down, and have every right to feel a bit blue.  Please feel free to call me anytime and we can talk offline if you need to.

A while back I sent you a little story about a train wreck.  Thought a bit of history and nostalgia about the old days in Arkansas might distract you for a few minutes. I wish you well. You are pretty tough, but this has to be taking a lot of wind from your sails.  Know that you do have support here.
