So, GM is unveiling a new car that is electric/gas and gets 230 mpg. Given the time from the mandate, to the new announcement, to the unvieling (late ’10), who doesn’t realize that they have been sitting on this technology?
My next rant: The State newspaper in South Carolina gets punked by Associated Press. Why is the AP doing better journalism than the newspaper who has access to every record, and person, involved?
Harder rant: An Illinois Judge sentences court member to 6 months of contempt over a yawn, while giving said offender’s cousin

On GM. First, we know that back in the ’70’s, the electric car was killed, by and large, by the same firms who have now declared bankruptcy – twice. Yet, coming out in late 2010, is a GM made car that will get 230 mpg. 230 miles PER gallon. This is NOT news. It is technology brought out of mothballs. Personally, I will buy it.
Next, how does a state newspaper continually get pwned on scoops of GOP corruption? That’s easy – they are GOP shill rags who do all they can NOT to make a story about GOP corruption. It has happened, for the third time I know of, when the AP scooped The State on how Gov. Mark Sanford’s use of his jet violated state law.
But, I am extremely upset at this judge, a judge that feels that based on his say alone, he can give a FELONY DRUG DEALER probation, but, a person that YAWNS a mandatory 6 MONTH sentence.
I may BE old. But I don’t remember things being this bad… this “in your face”. Do you?

People have been talking about what’s being called the beer summit. The Beer Summit, as it’s called, is a sit down talk between President Obama, Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr., and Cambridge Police Sgt. James Crowley. Crowley is the officer that arrested Gates at his home, which ignited accusations of racial profiling, which Crowley has flatly denied the entire time. Obama stuck his foot in his mouth by siding with a claimed racial motive, although the 911 tapes don’t mention Gates’ race, and in order to iron things out, Obama has invited both men to the White House for a beer. It might be worth a short term loans to find out what they talk about at the Beer Summit.
a yawn can indicate both a decreasing state of arousal as well as an increasing state of arousal.
this fact may or may not be common knowledge, but whether the judge knew this fact or not, some folks are simply too dumb to judge and control others (never mind the petulant arrogance of such behavior).
There are a lot of dumbasses in positions of power.
that car only goes 40 miles on a charge.
That’s not even far enough to get a lot of people through their daily commute.
The gas doesn’t actually run the car, but a generator designed to help recharge the battery while you’re driving.
