Mackey wins 3rd straight Iditarod

NOME — At 11:38 this morning, with the sun shining on a bitterly cold Front Street, Lance Mackey crossed the finish line of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race to cement his place in history as the manager of the first sled-dog dynasty of the new millennium.

Paced by ever-faithful lead dog Larry, Mackey’s team added a third straight victory in the 1,000-mile Iditarod to four straight victories in the 1,000-mile Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race.

Incredible story – one poor guy got stranded in 50 below temps + harsh wind and lost 2 dogs: Ordeal leaves musher grieving 🙁

I hate being cold. This is about the last thing I could imagine doing. The dogs are awesome though!
