Glenn Beck: Prepare for Civil War

Via Raw Story

“What we are possibly looking at is something far worse than the Depression,” Beck began. “We are in much greater debt as individuals. We don’t know how to grow our own food.”

“We’re also looking at civil unrest all around the world,” he continued. “You need to prepare. This is something that could be … really dangerous. … My hands, now, for the first time in my life, are shaking. … We’re running out of exit ramps here.”

Beck’s greatest fear — which he suggests is shared by his friends in the military and the FBI — is clearly not the prospect of widespread poverty, hunger, or homelessness. Rather, it appears to be thenotion that worldwide civil unrest could precipitate a civil war between what he calls the “bubbas” and the United States government.

After this appearance Beck did a one hour show that started with this…

ANNOUNCER: Warning: Topics discussed on today’s program may be disturbing to some viewers. The views expressed in this program are not predictions of what will happen, but what could happen. The panelists have been asked to think the unthinkable. Viewer discretion is advised.

And ended with this…

Glenn Beck’s gut is panicking. And he wants to make sure your gut panics too.

From the transcript:

BECK: OK. Let me go back to Gerald here for just a second. What — tell me what life is like for the average person — and, Stephen, chime in on this — do we have the neighborhoods we’re living in? Are we still living in our homes?

MOORE: Think gated communities. I mean, you were talking about this before. You know, those countries you were talking about like cities like Mexico City. Those are — the rich people live in fortresses, right? With armed guards and the masses are — as you said, people get kidnapped when they go outside the fortress, and you essentially privatize security and all the other kind of government functions because government breaks down. Isn’t that what happens .

(CROSSTALK)

CELENTE: And the other thing, even these — even these gated communities won’t be safe, because you’re going to see criminality — you’re going to see gangs like you’ve never seen before. Listen, when people have nothing left to lose, and they’ve lost everything, they lose it. And now, you have a society — we’re a dissenting society. I mean, you look at high school graduation rates — you have under 50 percent in major cities.

So, now you have all these people — I’m not a classist, I’m a guy that was born in the Bronx, you know.

BECK: Right.

CELENTE: You have people that are ignorant, functionally illiterate, and whacked out on drugs, Hillbilly era, well, you name it, meth, go down the line, and they have nothing to lose.

You know, I’m a practitioner, a close combat practitioner, Attackproof.com is my instructing — teachers, John Perkins, and he’s a self defense expert. He’s a close combat. Number one, anybody that wants to look him up, he’s there.

You know what he teaches us? He teaches us to prepare for the worst — survival. And then you back off from that. So, let’s look at what you are doing. You are doing the perfect thing. You are building the worst-case scenario.

From that, we can back off, but people better realize that the worst-case scenario could actually happen.

BECK: Yes.

CELENTE: 9/11 happened. This can happen. An economic 9/11, the likes of which we’ve never seen.

  2. his own listeners? Because the functionally illiterate are the only people who can take him seriously.

Beck wants it both ways: he want to be the ordinary dude (from the Bronx) and a member of the power elite. So he finds himself realizing that the pissed off hungry masses might be coming for him and it confuses him.

  3. That stupid bastard will get everybody killed with his paranoid bullshit.

  4. They nailed it again. Class war and catastrophe here we come. There is a clip of that dumb FOX lady hiding under the couch in here.  I was wondering what that was all about and now I know.  Oy – I just viewed the full segment with Beck over on the Raw Story page.

  5. When the economy gets REALLY bad, you have to concentrate on fundamentals like food, no matter what the cost, so my worst-case scenario includes . . . well, ummmm . . . “utilizing” Glenn Beck in the most efficient way possible according to ManBeef.com:

Because ManBeef extensively tests every cut of meat and only accepts the highest quality bodies, we have been forced to raise our prices.  The process of purchasing high quality bodies and  testing each individual cut of meat is extremely expensive.  Add to that the cost of butchering and shipping the meats in special coolers, and you can understand the need for us to charge more.  We do this to guarantee that you only receive the highest quality human meat on the market.  All of our testing pays off in the long run.  As a result of our extensive quality testing we are able to easily grade the texture, flavor and quality of each cut of human meat.  This allows you to choose the cut of meat that is appropriate for both your budget and the meal you wish to prepare.

Sorry Glenn, but eatin’ has to take priority over etiquette!

  6. …Beck, predicts dire, dire fear parameters in “Economic Crisis: Brzezinski warns of riots in US”

    ZB right here

“There’s going to be growing conflict between the classes and if people are unemployed and really hurting, hell, there could be even riots!” said Brzezinski, President Jimmy Carter’s national security advisor, in a recent interview with NBC.

“In 1907, when we had a massive banking crisis, when banks were beginning to collapse, there were going to be riots in the streets,” he added.

At least 3.6 million jobs have been wiped out throughout the US since the recession began in December 2007. The jobless rate officially reached a 16-year high of 7.6% (11.6 million people) last month.

Earlier this week, a new Federal Reserve report said that US unemployment could increase to 8.8%, causing the economy to contract for a full calendar year for the first time since 1991, when a contraction of 0.2% was registered.

The Obama White House has put forward an array of measures, including a $787 billion stimulus package, in the hopes of reviving the flagging economy.

I would only caution that the un-employment numbers and percentages are highly inaccurate to the low estimate side, as I’m sure the readers here at DD recognize!

Brzezinski, meanwhile, made some recommendations to the young administration.

He proposed the creation of a voluntary national solidarity fund, whose contributors would be those who became wealthy in recent times.

“Where is the moneyed class today? Why aren’t they doing something: the people who made billions, millions. I’m sort of thinking of Paulson, of Rubin [former treasury secretaries]. Why don’t they get together, and why don’t they organize a national solidarity fund in which they call on all of those who made these extraordinary amounts of money to kick some back?” he argued.

“I was worrying about it because we’re going to have millions and millions of unemployed, people really facing dire straits. And we’re going to be having that for some period of time before things hopefully improve,” said Brzezinski.

So solly, Brzez…, the ferry has awready left the dock!!!

  7. Shut the fuck up.

  8. Glennnnn Beck, shut the fuck up.

  9. Why are people like Beck and his Foxonian type colleagues, his obstinate GOP’er congress member buddies, the right wing radio hate talkers, and the RW newspapers doing every possible thing they can to stir the pot of fear,  divisiveness and hatred of the “liburls”? Why are they doing their best to try to whip up anger and incite violence?
