Friday Night Irreleverence: The Whizdumb of Confusedious

Below are some sayings compiled for no good reason, which is a pretty good reason.  Especially on a Friday.  A little night reading, I mean light reading–good because you don’t have to follow along.  These sentences only sporadically have anything to do with the ones next to them.  Or do they…?

The less you know, the easier it is to criticize.

The more you know, the easier it is to constructively criticize.

One is ill-advised to take sexual tips from one who has not had sex.

To the extent that creating art is like having sex, an artist should only take advice from other artists. To the extent that creating art is like anything else, an artist should listen to anyone.

Some great art has been done by people who don’t listen to anyone.

Some great art has been done by people who listen to trees.

People who don’t have sex, but watch a lot of pornography, should not be listened to, in general.

Those people who have a lot of sex, and who watch a lot of pornography, should come over to my house right away.

The earth has been provided with an amazing clock and calendar in the form of the moon, but modern society has chosen to use the sun and a myriad band-aid fixes to keep its time.

If the earth were to stop spinning (and not rip apart), the side facing the sun would burn while the other would freeze, in just a few days.

It is less the distance the Earth is from the Sun, and more the spin, tilt, and ratio of water to land, that determines our climate.

Life arises on the threshold of salt and fresh water, in light polarized by clear and cloudy skies.

The sun was the first strobe light; day and night the first binary switch.

Even in the dead of night, the earth is still basking in the sun.

Night is a local phenomenon.
