Taking A Stand: Sergeant Matthis Chiroux

( – promoted by buhdydharma )

Warning: Run on sentence ahead

Do you know how much courage it takes to join the military after the events of September 11, 2001 have affected you and your patriotic feelings to HELP any way you can the country you love, then ship out to Iraq, work your way to the rank of Sergeant, find out that both yourself and your comrades in arms come to learn that this war you are fighting with your life on the line to be nothing more than contrived BullShit, then come home (thankfully not in a coffin that Americans can’t see on TV) and then be told you have to go back?

I sure as hell don’t!  I have absolutely NO Friggin’ Idea what that would be like.

Do you have any idea how much courage it takes to learn the truth about why you went to war and to then face prison because you simply CANNOT continue to support, let alone be a part of the war-of-lies that you were brave enough to prosecute before you learned of the lies?

That takes some serious conviction. It takes a special person.  One who is not only willing to get up and take a stand, but one who is willing to put their ass on the line in order to do so.

Please find time to watch the attached video (9+ minutes) and understand what it takes.

I salute you, Matthis Chiroux.  If Honor is based in doing what is right and what you believe in, Matthis Chiroux is the most Honorable of US Citizens today.

we can all look up to and try to emulate.  As Bob Marley once said:

Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights

Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights

Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights

Get up, stand up, don’t give up the fight

  1. And yes…that is what I call courage.

I often think about the idea that real patriotism means being willing to die for your country, when the question that often goes unasked is whether or not you are willing to kill for your country.

I cried watching his Father try not to cry.

Again, I say, THAT is a Patriot.  America, look no further than this video to know what our founding Fathers were discussing when they led the original Patriots into conflict, war and more in the name of creating something better; something more pure than what they had ever seen before.

Today, I cringe at the bastardization of that dream that has been purposefully brought to bear on each and every citizen of not only the Dream of America and her citizens, but the citizens of the world overall.

We need to get Matthis’ back like we have never gotten anyone’s back before.  This young man MAY be the downfall of all the lies that went before, because you know the Neo-Con’s are going to try to grill his ass on hot coals.

His ability to be articulate and his ballsy attitude at taking on the Administration need to be rewarded.

Who wants to be the coordinator of that issue here at DD?

  2. viral all over the tubes!!  It needs to be heard by every

single American.  And how can we get this to the MSM???

I cannot imagine how much bravery it took for this young man

    to stand up and say

ENOUGH!!!  THIS IS WRONG AND I WILL NO LONGER BE PART OF THE PROBLEM.

I hope he is only the first of a long line of service people

who have the guts to say   ENOUGH

Thank you brobin for posting this.

  3. I am in tears thinking of the power of such integrity to restore our severely damaged country.

  4. …for posting this important piece, Brobin.

  5. Brings one to tears!  What if there were many such young men?

One voice can make SO many proud!

What a courageous young man of principle!
