Protecting Pelosi

(banned in Boston!  er, well not really.  Incendiary rhetoric don’t get better than this. – promoted by Nightprowlkitty)

Nancy Pelosi is a traitor.  She’s complicit in war crimes, she’s betrayed the Constitution, she’s betrayed America, she’s betrayed us all.

Cindy Sheehan is running against Pelosi and deserves massive Netroots support.

But is she getting Netroots support?

NO.

Is she getting support from the largest progressive blog in the world?

NO.

Supporting her candidacy is not allowed there.  She’s not a Democrat.  She’s not a useless fucking coward with a (D) after her name, so she doesn’t deserve to even be mentioned on Daily Kos.  Kos the Decider has decreed that no one can support her on his blog.

Pelosi is protecting war criminals and Zuniga is protecting Pelosi.

So why are so many people here still posting on his fucking blog?

Whatever reasons you have aren’t good enough.

They aren’t even close to good enough.

But you’ll keep posting there anyway, won’t you.  You’ll keeping playing in Zuniga’s sandbox like good little boys and girls, you’ll respect his “rule” about no advocacy for Cindy’s candidacy, while the bitch she’s running against shits on the Constitution and the rule of law.

We need progressives in Congress who have the courage to confront these treacherous hypocrites in Washington and tell America the damn truth about them.  Cindy Sheehan spoke out against this fascist government when no one else would.  If every one of us had done even just a fraction of what she’s done, this nightmare would be over.  She confronted Bush in the summer of 2005 while millions of us were just sitting at our keyboards bitching to each other about no one doing anything.  For three years, virtually alone, she’s fought for the progressive causes we all believe in and paid a heavy personal price for it. She’s been viciously smeared, threatened, mocked and ridiculed day after day for telling the truth about this criminal government, complicit media, posturing Democrats, and that war profiteering bloodbath in Iraq.

Cindy Sheehan is running for Congress because she knows a functioning conscience and moral courage are far more important credentials for office than anything else.  She’s challenging that complicit bitch Pelosi because SOMEONE has to.  Someone has to send every complicit Democrat in Congress a message they’ll never forget.  If progressive blogs would work together to support Cindy we could toss Pelosi’s complicit ass out of Congress.  No Democrat would ever ignore us again.  We could light up CA-08 with progressive activism from now until Election Day, we could show every pandering asshole in Congress that kissing the asses of lying, spying, blood-stained warmongers while America goes to hell is not going to be tolerated.

This shouldn’t be so hard for the illustrious leaders of the Netroots to figure out.

We could make history.  We could stand beside a hero, we could speak truth to power in CA-8, we could help Cindy win her fight for justice and democracy in a congressional district where it would have the biggest impact.

But we aren’t doing that.

WHY AREN’T WE DOING THAT?

Because the leaders of the Netroots have shit for brains, that’s why.

I still post on a bipartisan blog that has – gasp! – outright conservative Republicans.  That makes me even worse!

    Power at any cost…………..

  1. well, Holy water, garlic, silver bullets, exposure to the dawn perhaps……….

  2. I’d love to see you post this at the GOS.  I’d buy the popcorn.

  3. … but you are absolutely right about Cindy — she was treated terribly there and did not deserve it.

Why can’t people remember what she did?

When no anti-war activity was getting major press coverage, she stood in a ditch in Crawford and changed the whole conversation about the war.

I agree Pelosi should not continue to hold office.

Took a quick trip to December to have a look around.

There was a newspaper story there about Pelosi…

“People voted for change and they voted for Democrats who will take our country in a new direction,” Pelosi said during a victory speech in San Francisco on November 8, 2006.

Pelosi, a San Francisco Democrat who became the first female Speaker of the House, never managed to exact the type of change she promised her supporters.

She never regained consciousness, and finally passed away in November 2008.

  4. wait, that’s too many letters. Well, you know what I mean. I’ve got an IGTNT diary up there right now – and how pissed off am I after reading this??? I had no freaking idea they had banned Cindy diaries … WHY???? Grrrrrr, have to find some nails or ground glass to chew on, brb!

  5. political blog in the world is just as important, maybe more important, when you disagree with the owner.

Kick ass rant buddy.  One of your best.

I agree, we should all be supporting Cindy, and she sure was shit on at dkos.

I can’t leave dkos though.  They have pootie diaries, and we can’t have them here because of nocatz.

  6. I still post there and I still put in a plug for Cindy every chance I get! I’ve also sent her $150 so far and plan on sending more! So let’s send her some more here!

  7. at the GOS and today there was a diary about Cindy running against Pelosi and you would not have believed the venom in the comment thread.  The smears against Cindy were awful and consistent, especially by one poster.  All that poster could do was repeat the same smear, endlessly.  Guess she had run out of “hides” but did keep demanding that the diary be deleted.  The frontpagers even got in on it, spouting the most ridiculously convoluted reasons for supporting Pelosi.  The diarist had to delete the link to donate to Cindy in order to keep from being banned.  I thought that was how we got in the mess we’re in now, blind obedience to our Dear Leaders.

  8. But this is a pretty over the top attack on Markos.

Do you know why DailyKos is the largest Democratic blog in the nation?

Beacuse Markos dedicates his fucking life to it. He tries his best to make it a place where everyone’s voice can be heard and to do that and make it a civil place you have to set down rules.

One of the first rules he set was that DailyKos was a site dedicated to electing Democrats.

Cindy Sheehan decided to run as a independent. And so she can’t make posts promoting her run.

    Do I agree with that?

    No.

    Do I understand that?

    Yes.

He set down rules for a site her started and enforces those rules.

If you don’t like those rules post here at DocuDharma which is a fantastic site for other reasons.

Markos is not some kind of devil or all powerful insider. He’s a dude who started a website on the intertubes. Blaming him for everything is a pathetic attack and calling Nancy Pelosi a “bitch” however much you disagree with her is downright sexist and offensive and has no place on this blog

“BITCH. A she dog, or doggess; the most offensive appellation that can be given to an English woman, even more provoking than that of whore.”

Rusty, this is pathetic crap. Your better then this. Sexist attacks like this have no place at DocuDharma and it’s sad to see this on the rec list and front page. You all should be ashamed of yourselfs.

    Ugg.

  9. I’m sorry for whatever “rules and regulations” of DailyKOS that were pre-established that are not particularly pleasing to so many.

My personal view is that anyone who posts on DailyKOS does so, not because they agree with each and every premise of that site, but because their message is important to them and they seek a wider recognition of their statement via DKOS — that’s my take on it, Rusty.  I don’t think there is any meditated thought to slight Cindy, or anyone else — least not on our part!

There are many sites that DO support Cindy — see MichaelMoore.com, etc.

I’m as unhappy as you about how Cindy has been treated.

But, realisticly speaking, DKos has its rules, as does this site.  Right or wrong!

If you and everyone of us were doing what we should be doing, WE WOULD BE ON THAT PHONE EVERY SINGLE DAY TO PELOSI — LETTING HER KNOW OUR SENTIMENTS UNDER NO UNCERTAIN TERMS.  That would be a more effective response to anything!

Honest politicians with clear, ethical stands that favor the Earth and the Constitution get my vote. Better if they favor progressive and populist agendas.Way back when, there were actually some decent republicans here and there. Not so much anymore.

It’s the K Street politicos that need to go – Red or Blue. Nancy and Steny are K St. all the way.

  10. I remember when Cindy Sheehan was crucified at Daily Kos. Accused of having gone too far, called a “media whore,” etc.

Think about how easy it would be for Democratic party operatives to manipulate public opinion at a blog like Daily Kos merely by showing up as an ordinary blogger and starting a lynch mob (a favorite activity there).

Sheehan has guts and a clear vision, and this is something that people will just not tolerate.

I know of no country in which there is so little independence of mind and real freedom of discussion as in America.

In America the majority raises formidable barriers around the liberty of opinion; within these barriers an author may write what he pleases, but woe to him if he goes beyond them.  –Alexis de Tocqueville

  11. It’s fun to post and say “suckaz!” on dark days like today.

Well, fun for about 30 seconds.

  12. I remember last year when Sheehan said she was going to challenge Pelosi in the Democratic primary.  Many who were upset with Pelosi’s anti-impeachment stance were ready to send her money.  Did Marcos Z. or the rest of the dKos bigwigs have a position on that at the time?  Were they offering fund-raising or were they hostile?  If they had started to support the primary challenge and she bailed, it could explain their subsequent hostility.  They would be viewing her as a dilettante dabbling in a very serious game.

She may not have expected the inevitable vicious attacks by the local Dem party regulars, nor knew that quite a few candidates weather opposition by the machine only to be embraced by them later when they prevail.  I imagine the party threatened to remove any precinct captain from his/her position if they dared support Sheehan, and promised to run ads against her.

I tried to find a way to contact Sheehan soon after she dropped out of that race, but she had gone incommunicado.  Do you think she feels ambiguous about actually holding office?
