is Russian Yuri Norstein. These are a little longer than the cutoff for those clips, but still very worth watching.
This is his most popular film, “???? ? ??????” (“Hedgehog in the Fog”). The visuals are absolutely breathtaking, and it leaves you with a strange sort of melancholy.
Michel Gondry was struck enough by the film that he used it as inspiration for his awesomely wacky Bjork video “Human Behavior”:
