He won

(Bumped because I just woke up and……..YAY! – promoted by buhdydharma )

Al Gore has won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.

He is sharing the Nobel Peace prize with the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

“for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change”

The complete text committee’s announcement is available.

Here is one reason Why Al Gore deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

In the 20th century peace was something to be achieved after the horrifying bloodletting of world war began. In the 21st century, although the world faces a new era of turmoil, peace ultimately must be about identifying and resolving the sources of conflict before battles break out. That’s why no one deserves the Nobel Peace Prize more than Al Gore.

Congratulations Mr. Vice President!

Now about 2008…

congrats Mr. Gore…. and it’s a good day today!

  3. i wonder if he’ll be invited to visit the white house……hmmmmm…

  4. that’s beginning to see that he might be able to accomplish more – for the long haul – by NOT engaging in our corrupted political system. Even tho I’d vote for him in a heartbeat over anyone else in the feild.

  5. An Academy Award, a Nobel Peace Prize and he was elected President of the United States.

    Now there’s a full resume.

    than to be U.S. president?

The Nobel committee’s rationale for awarding the prize to Gore and the UN committee is inspiring.

Think about it — the efforts by the global community to alter climate change and to what degree will drastically affect our survival and our willingness to work as a community.

I cannot envision a greater role for Al Gore than to assume the mantle as a world leader driving this global effort.

  6. Al Gore has for a long time been one of the world’s leading environmentalist politicians. He became aware at an early stage of the climatic challenges the world is facing. His strong commitment, reflected in political activity, lectures, films and books, has strengthened the struggle against climate change. He is probably the single individual who has done most to create greater worldwide understanding of the measures that need to be adopted.

    Congratulations Al!

  7. There’s a new sign in my window:

Congratulations, Al!  Now please run for President so I can elect you again!
