Chess Problems

Here are four chess positions. All are white to move, mate in two. Some are kind of cute, so look close!

Hints:

(1) Do something about the black bishop.

(2) Hmm. How can we give the white queen some fighting room?

(3) This one threw me for a minute! Beware the black queen.

(4) Move a knight to an unexpected place.

It’s been a loooong time since I played chess. My husband helped on 1 & 2. I think I got 3 & 4. My brain hurts now, but it’s good exercise!

since I played chess…and that was in Jr.High…I was the score keeper for the chess team, they’d only let me play sometimes, if someone was absent.

I’m on first coffee so I’ll skip these problems this AM…but thanks LithiumCola…I’ll have to find a chess set now! Good brain exercise.
