NASA’s Cassini probe performed its closest pass to Saturn’s odd little Iapetus moon yesterday, and the first, unprocessed pictures have begun showing up online.

  2. Scientists hope that this week’s flyby, at an altitude of 1020 miles, and a speed of just 1.5 miles per hour, will help them understand better these formations.

    The craft traveled literally a billion miles to get there and now slows down to 1.5 miles per hour to take pics.

    Unreal.
