Burris: IOKIYAR!

Also posted at Kos

Roland Burris spoke to Rod Blagojevich! Name a Politician in Illinois who hasn’t? We all knew he was lying…but in the matter of lies…this was a tiny one.

Heck Bill Clinton lied too and he got Impeached!

George Bush lied….so what.

The difference was, “under oath”!

Bush testified, but not under oath, with no transcripts and with Cheney to help him out.

Burris got videotaped.

Maybe he needs to change parties.

So while everyone is beating their chests about “corrupt” Democrats, the “honest”, “freedom-loving”, Constitution following Republicans pull another fast one.

“Hey look, there’s a chicken!” meanwhile they steal the henhouse!

I have heard so much about how terrible the Dems are in Illinois, yet it seems everyone has forgotten Denny Hastert. Where is his indictment? Come on, P.E. coach at a small high school to a mulimillionaire with a plush home on the Fox River in Yorkville? Vote counter for Tom DeLay who received campaign contributions from Jack Abramoff! No Problem…he was never under oath. Looked the other way on Tom Foley, but that’s OK.

Bush Lied. Cheney Lied, Condi Lied. Rumsfeld thought waterboarding was like a swimming lesson and WTF, he stands for eight hours a day EVERY day! That’s OK.

And the Sainted Patrick Fitzgerald…he’s gonna get Rod Blagojevich!!!! The crook who talked about selling Obama’s Senate Seat!….but somehow he couldn’t connect the dots to Karl Rove and got Scooter instead….and then Scooter gets a “get out of jail free” monopoly card while Patrick hotfoots it back to Illinois to catch the real crooks. THAT’S the Best he could do???? I thought he was nonpartisan? Now Rove wants to make a deal with Leahy…Ha, I bet it includes not going under oath and no transcripts! But Patrick will nail Blagojevich for talking about “selling”, meanwhile Bush and company “sold out” the entire country, bankrupting us till Judgement Day or the Rapture, whichever comes first! Big Deal, that’s OK.

Just listen to the talk…it is the Dems who are mortgaging our children’s future, not the Republicans! It is the Dems who are racist, terrorist lovers, living in their mother’s basements! It’s Obama’s recession and he is the blame!!!!!!!

Halliburton gets “no bid” contracts. Airplanes filled with money fly to Iraq and disappear. Hundreds of thousands of weapons go “missing”. A specialized mercenary force is created just for Iraq and used in New Orleans and has bases in Illinois but all that is OK.

Think of all the Republican congressmen and Senators who have committed a crime in the past 8 years, yet it is Roland Burris who is so awful. He is a Democrat with a two year fill-in seat. But get him out now! And why would that be so important? No Republican ever resigns or is impeached, no matter what the crime. After all it is usually only money. But leaving a Democratic Senate Seat empty is preferable to allowing Burris to “rubber stamp” Obama’s agenda. Oh the CROOK!

This is Republican Desperation. Use the press to mock Obama at every turn, harass the “crooked” Dems while overlooking every single Republican example of malfeasance. And the worst press coverage in the world continues to spout the Republican “talking points” and agonize over Burris while the real crooks have destroyed our reputation, our military, our economy, or unions and our middle class. After all why should anyone pay their mortgage now that the Dems are gonna bail us all out!

The fact that Lindsay Graham set up this “laizzes faire” attitude toward the mortgage companies and real estate agents worked along to benefit their own “bottom line” in bonuses, means nothing. But Obama allowing people to stay in their homes when they default on their exhorbitant  balloon mortgage payments is nothing short of criminal! John McCain has 7 or 9 or “God knows how many” homes, but someone who gets a “spoken” or “stated” mortgage loan with “no money down” under the “new”, “hands off” rules is the cheat. Shades of the Savings and Loan scandal and Neil Bush, we got snookered again!

Come on people! The evidence is out there! Stop musterbating about what the Dems are doing, start concentrating on getting those who got us into all these messes behind bars! Knock it off!

If we keep targeting the small guys and crippling our Democratic majority with small fry, the big ones get away!

Demand that investigations be started on all the crimes of the last 8 to 15 years of Republican control.

They brought us this mess, let them own it. They want us to be distracted so that they can get back in with a majority in 2010. Don’t let it happen!

Let’s take this country back and start demanding that our press do the job they are being paid for. Make them do research! Call them out when they use Republican talking points! Point out that Republicans are getting away with crimes more often than Democrats! (Where is Tom DeLay’s indictment and trial?)

Stop agonizing about who spoke to Blagojevich and when and start wondering who pimped for the Republicans and when!

(Jeff Gannon where are you?)

If we don’t keep our eyes on the goal, we will miss it and they’ll be back in 8 years to finish the job!

Is the Pony/Pie/Hide rating system too cutsie?

  1. you’re a Democrat.

It’s not okay to “shake down” applicants for open Congressional seats–whether you’re a Democrat or a republican Gov. IMHO.  Blago was just far more blatant about it than other govs., like say…maybe Patterson, and he therefore managed to put the spotlight on himself.  Yes, it’s probably SOP for republican and Democratic governors–but should it be?  Should “selling” a congressional seat be SOP?

IMHO, It’s not ok to lie your way into a senate seat, or a cabinet appointment, whether you are a Democrat or a republican.  What’s the point of hearings if one can lie–under oath or not–without any consequence?

Again, IMHO, it is a matter of credibility.  The US lost credibility in the human rights arena when it chose to ignore international law and start torturing people.  How can a country that tortures tell other countries that they are violating human rights?  How can Democrats hold hearings and prosecute republicans for law breaking when they turn a blind eye to unethical and/or illegal actions by members of their own party?  They can either choose to rise above the stinking swamp of corruption and lawlessness that is the republican way of government or they can sink into the muck with them.

BTW, I’m in no way excusing the republicans law-breaking, corruption and downright evilness.  I want to see them prosecuted, convicted and jailed–every last one of them that violated the Constitution, that persecuted the innocent, that started illegal wars, that authorized and practiced torture, and that wallowed in a swamp of corruption.
