America’s Final Destination. Thankyou Liberal Bloggers

Photobucket

America is a great nation. A nation of workers. A nation of people who through generation after generation have built this nation, this culture into the strongest, most mighty, most modern, most progressive nation in the history of the world.

At this time, we are in a crisis. We have been in crises, before and have risen to the occasion.

This is not a time for idle bickering between parties, but a time for coming together to face the challenge that confronts us all.

The American economy will survive this test because the American people are fundamentally strong and resilient.

They understand adversity and they face it with experience, strength and fortitude.

You may lose you bank accounts, you homes, your pensions and your jobs. But Americans know that no matter what happens in the coming days, we must stick together and face these challenges, not in individual self interest, but as a nation undeterred by the insurmountable debt that has accumulated as a result of an economy that is failing to function but for the much needed infusion of American energy in the form of the economic package that our senators and congressman are working collectively in a bi partisan manner to work out.

I urge all Americans to have faith in the system of government that has inspired the world since it’s inception.

Soon an agreement will be worked out in congress and I believe a solution will be found.

God Bless America and God Bless those of you on these liberal websites that believe in America. It is You who believe in America who have brought us to this point and you who will continue the path toward America’s final destination.

Fish Rot

Over at the NOLA blog Gentilly Girl, Morwen has a very disturbing story about an “idea” put forth by State Representative John LaBruzzo.

I didn’t watch Bush’s speech.  I can’t abide looking at or listening to him.

But from what I’ve read on the blogs, he is maintaining the Republican talking point of blaming this economic problem on homeowners, citizens, everyone but the big business monopolies who created this situation.

The old saying is that the fish rots from the head down.

So now we have a Representative from Jefferson Parish suggesting poor folks be sterilized.  That the solution to poverty is to just get rid of those pesky poor people.

According to Raw Story:

State Representative John LaBruzzo of Metairie said many of his constituents are tired of paying for children from poor families and that is why he is considering proposing legislation that would pay women on government assistance $1,000 if they choose to be sterilized.

“You have these people who are just fed up with working their buns off to try to provide for their own family and being forced by the government o provide for others’ families who just want to have unlimited kids,” he said.

LaBruzzo said he is studying voluntary sterilization for women whose sole financial support comes from the government in the form of welfare or other public assistance. His idea would be to give the women $1,000 if they had their tubes tied.

His proposal has come under harsh criticism by some civil rights groups.

The ACLU called it a misguided and mean-spirited attempt to eliminate poverty by eliminating the poor.

This is eugenics, of course.  Like … hmm … oh yeah, the Nazis did.  Because LaBruzzo finds the beauty part of this plan in the fact that once we get rid of all those undesirables, the “right” kind of people can repopulate the difference, huzzah!

Oppose Barack Obama? How Dare Thee!!

Original article, by Joshua Frank, via dissidentvoice.org:

Increasingly, progressives I talk with admit they are starting to get a little disgusted with the antics of Barack Obama, that great agent of change. It wasn’t too long ago when these same folks were overly optimistic that Obama would deliver on his varied promises, beckoning a new era of Washington politics. Nonetheless, they all plan on voting for the Democrat regardless of how dismayed they have become with him and his campaign.

Pony Party: for Speedway Babs

There’s a Kossack who lives in my small city.  Well, another one besides me.

I dedicate this to her.  She loves small critters, so I am inviting any other small-critter-lovin’ folks to please join us in a celebration.

Exit Procedures

In an effort to ease the pain of the colleagues I leave behind I tried to save data and programs needed for the to carry on.  The compliance pricks however have pre-emptively made that impossible with their Seigheilbizassholianism.  Apparently “according to Sarbanes-Oxley” my hard drives have to be physically removed and wisked away to Cheney’s secure location(oh shit!).  The Americans are “just following orders” like as the Nazis did.  Several points of these insane company departure procedures written by idiots will turn out to be massively destructive to the company, the company’s bottom line but does have that added benefit of de-constructing a barely funcioning American enterprise to save jobs in the German parent company.

Currently restoring an older computer to converse with you fine people after the Gestapo takes this dual core laptop.  An install of Winblows eXtraPathetic pisses me off to no end with it’s inane insistence of doing shit with a computer that no rational human should do.  Things like putting your real name into “it” or having “it” “remember” your passwords.  Enter your name, BiteMe.

Do you want to “register” with MicroSatan, never.  And activate my ass you anal globally oriented Sith Lord.

Seriously should have done Linux or Unbuntu but years upon years of stuff has come out of Microshit and I don’t have the time to screw around with and aging hard drive from the old dead motherboard machine.

I did find a paper from 2004 about the enhanced data mining capacity of XP and Longhorn, concepts like “Trusted Computing”.  Trusted computing actually transfers ownership of YOUR computer over to the “VENDORS” of “your?” software.

The second evolution of this most Satanic concept of course will be, get the catchy biz buzzword,”software as a service”.  Great billed by the minute for powerpoint?  WTF?

Seig Heil.  Not only do they charge for minutes they can easily mine your data too!  Yeah it’s totally “secure”, “trust us”.

Oh and the financial “crisis”?  The first influential guy who stands up in front of the news cameras and says “Well this is what was discussed in Chantilly Virginia this June”, he is the one that gets my confidence.

A severance check sans bank to cash it.  Seriously this “post 911 world”, our Reichstag Fire(911) and the resulting marketing campaign to sell corporate fascism will surely lead to the American holocaust.  With my boss gone new Russian friends have been emerging.  They found it interesting and unusual talking to an awake American.  Old country, new country, same thing.

Potemkin Nation.

Look Out Below! Economic News Worsens

As the media and the blogosphere focus on the dangers in the Paulson putsch proposal and the war of maneuver between the campaigns, stuff is happening that may render it all insignificant.

You may have seen a short news clip of the huge lines outside of Bank of East Asia offices in Hong Kong. Already it’s the biggest bank run since the one that resulted in the nationalization of Northern Rock in the UK last year, a lot earlier in this mess.

But did you read that Société Générale has told its customers to dump their stock holdings in China-related firms, pronto?

So what, I hear you ask. Why is this any worse than the rest of the economic bad news rattling our way?

A bit of background may help–SocGen is the sixth largest publicly-traded company in France by market capitalization and the third largest bank/financial services company in the whole Eurozone. They swing a big butt in world finance.

Their main global strategist, a dude named Albert Edwards, argues that most Western observers are counting on Asia, and China in particular to remain resilient and help keep the global economy perking. He argues that

The collapse of emerging market economies will shake investors to the core. The great unwind has only just begun.

In essence he is predicting a massive recession–a decline in global GDP. He points out that a liquidity squeeze could hit financial companies that are heavily exposed in Latin America as well as Asia, vastly intensifying the ongoing downward spiral of the credit crisis.

A good short summary of his argument can be found in this Telegraph article–and in the closing prices in the world’s stock markets.
