The town in question is a rather yuppified snob community in which people routinely spy upon and question/report the goings on of their neighbors on everything trivial like parking tradesman trucks on private property to erecting deer fences to protect gardens. My theory is that media advances it and it creeps into accepted society like the spread of a cancer. Think about it. Every time a story about somebody doing something "bad" focus on punishment and penalty is also given. Some of you out there might have had some classes in marketing,media,and business so you might be able to sit back and disect how media frames and reports the "news". Has that frame work changed over time? Underneath the opinion biases of either left or right political leanings is there a common subliminal thread promoting deconstructive "anti-live and let live" anal control freakish turd polishing?
