Hi ya'll.  Tonight I'm all about beer blogging.  It's unconventional, I know.  But if it goes over like a lead balloon I'll keep doing it 'til someone gives me praise.  So heap on the praise and I'll stop...

Come...

god less force :: Beer
After a great dinner at one of my favorite restaurants , a great Hefewizen at out local and a detour at the Short Stop for smokes, I couldn't resist taking home a mixed-pack of the two of the best beers known to man.

Two Hearted Ale - A Bell's brewery masterpiece. I have no idea where Comstock, Michigan is, but Dog Gamn!! they make a good IPA.  This is one of my favorite styles of beer.  Two Hearted has a light to medium pour with a super hoppy, almost skunky smell.  It's an India Pale Ale, and packs the punch required to back it up.  Crisp and floral, but slightly bitter on my palate with a great spit factor (makes you wanna spit after about two bottles..this is a good thing). Dee-lish!

Oberon Summer Ale - Another Bell's creation that may just fall short for those of us expecting a huge Hefewizen punch.  I drank mine straight out the bottle.  Perhaps a mistake 'cause the citrus just isn't hitting me.  All I'm getting is sweet and fizz which is fine at this point in the evening but leaves me wanting.  I've had this beer before and really liked it. Tonight it should have been my first, before the IPA .  My taste buds are ruined but it's good nonetheless.

So?  What are you guys drinking tonight?

For the poker game tomorrow night (4.00 / 4)
at our house we have some Lagunitas Pale Ale and some IPA. It's from a local brewery about 25 miles from here!

Lagunitas Brewing Company Anyone with a motto of "Think Globally, Drink Locally" has gotta be worth a try!

I like Lagunitas Pale Ale also... (4.00 / 4)

I had a coupla of MSBs (4.00 / 4)
Main Stream Beers.  Then I switched to cheapshit rum & cokes.  It being Friday and all.

Okay that does it! (4.00 / 3)
I'm bringing some really good stuff for my trip to Glacier! Rum and coke....bah!

Name your stuff: Red Tail Ale is local to me, Lagunitas if we want 'lighter' beer, I'll have some more single malt scotch from my friends, and wine is more plentiful than a decent cup of coffee Seattle!

shelter pale ale is my favorite for all the time...

raison d'extra is super smooth, but it drinks like a meal.  that's not always a bad thing, just not an all the time thing.

brewed right here in delaware, available sporatically across the us:  map of distributors

I can no longer drink alcohol... (4.00 / 3)
but when I could I did - to Olympic standard and I was partial to Sheperd Neame draught bitters on England's Kent coast. I recommend it to anybody who visits that part of the world. Don't say I didn't warn you though - the locals refer to it as "Shit and Scream".

Now I make smoothies with exotic flavorings whizzed into them.

can't drink anymore either (4.00 / 4)
sucks, doesn't it!  I take too much medicine... alcohol would make my heart explode!

I'm really happy to be alive, because I don't like the other options.

I'm an old wino myself (4.00 / 3)
prefered what my Granny used to make from Concord grapes from our grape arbor, but I have been known to settle for Bardenhier's Anniversary ($0.89 a bottle) and Boone Farms Strawberry (not much more)

I like some of the micro brews... my husband and boys are the real beer gourmets.
