I would like to note, the Mississippi of New England, the rock-ribbed Republican refuge for disaffected New Yorkers wanting to “live free or die,” the New Hampshire state motto, elected an all female liberal Democratic governor, senator to match the one previously elected, and both representatives. They did go for one standard issue conservative – Obama – but it is hard to see how they had much choice.
There is progress but sometimes it is hard to see.
All the newly elected but one upset hard rightwingers.
Do anything like that in Californ-I-A? [I asked my sister. :-)]
BTW the purported female Delaware Indian [there never was any Delaware tribe as such] elected in Massachusetts is at least a match for Bernie Sanders. Elizabeth Warren is sure to be a pain for Obama as he attempts to do for bankers and gut Social Security in order to be loved by everyone except we desecrable “professional leftists.”
What a great election we had.
You might note that God has been taking His rightful vengeance on us here in the northeast even before the election. If only Odin and his fully equal goddesses were the national religion but you have to start somewhere.

The awful Ayotte (R-NH) remains.
A few weeks ago, a first responder in our bedroom asked what happened.
How the hell was I supposed to know? I had been away. They wanted to x-ray my head but I told them it had already been x-rayed and there was nothing there. That was from a real fall a year or two ago and not falling out of bed. And more recently…
I could have done the decent thing and edited the diary but I wanted to make an excuse for my execrable blunder instead. Unlike everyone else on the planet, I make lots of incredibly stupid mistakes.

They gave the democrats a super majority in the legislature, rendering the state GOP irrelevant. They voted for tax increases to fix the public schools. They ease penalties for nonviolent offenses under California’s “three-strikes” law was approved and rejected a measure that would have curbed the political influence of unions.
There is hope for the Sunshine state. Someday I’ll forgive them for Arnold Schwarzenegger

We don’t need another term with Scott Brown as our Senator.
I voted my conscience and voted for the POTUS Green Party Candidate, Dr. Jill Stein, instead of voting for Barack Obama. I felt that I could not, in good conscience, vote for either Romney or Obama as POTUS.
Frankly, I have scant, if any expectations that Obama will alter the course that he’s taken since being in office.
Well, I did go out and vote this past Tuesday. After I’d thought and planned for a good, long time prior to our recent election, I decided that I couldn’t stomach either Romney or Obama, so I voted my conscience and voted for the Green Party POTUS Candidate, Dr. Jill Stein ( who I was grateful to see was on the ballot here in the Bay State), and have no regrets about having voted my conscience. Yet, while I’m not particularly thrilled about the fact that Obama got re-elected (due to the crap that he pulled while in office), I’m also relieved that Mitt Romney didn’t get in. I knew Mitt wouldn’t get in, because people saw through him for the ass that he really is.

I also might add that I’m not crazy about his healthcare “reform” package that he passed, for all kinds of reasons that would take too long to post here, and I think that the fact that abortion rights were thrown under the bus in order for it to pass was equally, if not more disgraceful, and about the fact that he didn’t force Netanyahu to cede West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem to the Palestinians and allow them to create their own independent, sovereign nation-state alongside Israel.
Anyway, the only thing I can say at this point, besides the fact that I voted my conscience (I listened to a video of Jill Stein and Liberterian Gary Johnson, really liked what Jill Stein had to say, and was more than happy that I’d voted for her.), is that I hope that the GOP and the Democrats alike quit screwing around and get to work fixing the mess that they both got this country into!

might be called Northern mAssachusetts by some people. This is not live free or die because “we” have lost what it means to live free. We have to upgrade Winblows 7, check our emails, FB our friends and get our cars inspected just like everybody else.
Me? I did not even vote. Hell, I am not even registered up here and I may not even bother.
Guns will be illegal, green carbon shit will fully wipe out any semblance of former middle class America and forget what you used to get for health care.
Not that good things didn’t happen. Marijuana legalization passed in two states, Warren was elected, there was some minimal proof that angry white men would probably not dominate our society again, Christian conservatives have seen their high-water mark, I hope.
But mainly I am sad because all the important issues were simply not talked about in a rational way. We can say that we are now fully in the politics of PR image where style and tribe trumps reason. Politics is a more sophisticated version of reality shows just as our country and our lives are also morphing into staginess.
Surprise, surprise, that following the money is where you will see the rubber hitting the road–everything else is misdirection. A close analysis of who does what for what amount of money is the furthest thing from anyone’s mind–we don’t want to think about that. Obamacare exists because the insurance companies threatened to rain money on Washington and the communication media if any kind of health-care plan was instituted that did not have as its central tenet a guarantee that insurance companies would continue to gobble up insane profits for providing poor quality service. Anyone who has lived or traveled outside of tour buses knows how simple, efficient and logical nearly all health-care systems around the world are. Yes, they have glitches and budget issues but nothing like ours where we spend at least 17% of our GDP on health care compared to the OECD average that is a bit more than half of that number–think of it! That’s a dramatic reality that is still almost unknown to the U.S. public. This analysis extends to all major parts of our society including even the internet–we are 13th in average connection speed in the world and so on and so on.
Elections here are just shows that re-arrange status for various groups and provide entertainment–I found it entertaining. More than at any time in our history since the days of the Robber Barons money talks, bullshit walks.
